I got this little Orang Utan-peeler from a Perth friend when we moved into our condo 2011.
And with him I join Eileen´s Staturday Critters. He still peels carrots for Ingo for every work day (I help a bit).
Obviously in Australia it is tradition to send a welcome-pressie. She also sent a dish-brush I need yet to sketch!
After 12 years our doormat has had it.
And yesterday Ingo came home with this!!!!
I said, I want them to stay in front of the kitchen-door as they make me happy every time I enter.
Ingo agreed, we´re off soon to buy another for the condo-door - have the best man ever 🥰
Also off to the market to buy local honey from maybe Oker-bees 🐝
And in case of ear-worm, here goes:
With this to a for us sadly long but hopefully happy weekend!
Why sadly? Tuesday is German Unitiy Day and hence I am forced to take Monday off as bridge day. We "traded" that for a public holiday in June! 😒
End of October there is another.
Not good when you have to take the days between Christmas and News Years off as well and start your six-weeks holiday end of January!
And hence atm as I work internal I am not allowed to work overtime.
So many forced days of holiday in the shitty half of the year.
Henry 🦁...
Addendum: Ingo came home from grocery/market-shopping with this (I had a mean cramp and could not join):
"This is how Braunschweig, the Lion-City, tastes like".
In case you do not know why we are the Lion-City, look here 🦁

Good mornng, I Loveee your new doormat-tell Ingo great choice! sorry these holidays are not paid ones. when I worked at the phone co-years ago before retirement we were fortunate to get lots of them paid-and forced unpaid vacation not good either-guess I was spoiled back then.
I sent you an email-about happy mail!-loved it thank you much hugs from the lake
Oh and I loved too the baby Henrys
It is paid holiday, Kathy, but I have o... "only" 30 days per year and wanted to take 10 to the next because otherwise all holidays are gone come March 8!
Ingo smiles when I told him about his choice and at least baby Henry loves a long weekend!
Great the mail arrived :-) Hugs to you and the lake!
Hello, Iris
A long weekend sounds great, I hope you go out and play. Your Orang Utan peeler is cute and I love the Bee Happy door mat. I bought some honey this week too, the local honey is a treat. Love the cute lion cubs, they are adorable. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
I try to see it your way (to me it is a forced one I don´t need).
Yay to local honey, baby Henry is out to play, I bet! :-)
...Iris, Bee Happy and I love the lion family.
These are such fun Iris. I love the peeler. I've never seen an orangutan one before. :) Nice drawing too. And you can't go wrong with honey nor a bee doormat. Perhaps one is the queen and one is a worker. :) Enjoy-and happy weekend.hugs-Erika

I like the oragutan peeler, have never seen one before. I love the Bee Happy mat.
Not all Australians follow that tradition, but I'm glad someone did for you.

Bertiebo, it will mean next year after the big holiday... only forced ones, ugh!

River, the Orangutan was a cheapy, years later (it always takes ages to get to Germany) I saw him here, too. Sadly no more...
Yes, it was a big surprise to get a welcome-parcel!
Our own condo, no more renting, it was special and we felt like little Kings ;-)

Margaret, he turns all red from all the attention!
