T STands for Trains Again

My ticket to Elizabeth´s T - isn´t Elmo too cute? Bro thinks so!
Cookie monster on my T-shirts is a bit jealous...

The journal:

Monday: Well, I think I will not take the INA-job. It sounds rather boring, plus I would need to be in the office every day as... now I do not lie... they have all plans, all - on paper only.
Huge plans hanging on the walls!
As I did walk to the company I was too tired for sport. Bummer. google suggested 37 minutes, as I´ve never been in that house before took 45 and... was 20 minutes early :-(

Tuesday: Tough day at work. M, who is the Sharepoint specialist... could not help, all he tried I had already tried before and he would not believe me it won´t work.
He´s supernice but it was exhausting. Also his German is... tough. But we have fun! 😊
Just how was life like before we worked from home via teams???

Went to get meds for Ingo and asked for a transfer to a neurologist as my feet tingle till it hurts.
Doc´s wife said, "he will want to see you, do you have 30 minutes?"
Said, "yes, I work from home" - she said it must be wonderful.
Doc asked too, about my schedule and went, "oh, lucky you!".

Yes. I know how lucky I am!

Wednesday: Workshop "Introduction to rail vehicle technology" - I was the oldest, just not visibly. The 37-y-o- colleague looked much older than me (I´m 51). That´s what all the "sunbathing" does, I reckon! One was 21 and always occupied texting.😈

It was really, really interesting! Really, really tough at times, too (mathematics).
Boy oh boy, like being back at FH (uni). Luckily we were in teams doing the math as I have no idea how to calculate with Excel!
Certainly the guy I "grabbed" - oh, come on, we had lunch together and I was the only one telling him he had tomato-sauce all over his face! - No one else helped! (Around his mouth, let´s not exaggerate, but he looked like a kiddo!)
His name was... Ingo.
What else! And Ingo had his laptop and knew how to calculate with Excel. Give and take, right?

Thursday: I never ate that much! Electrical engineering it was. BOY. This is what Ingo ("mine") studied and he said it is tough stuff indeed. My brain ate up so much of my energy I ate a whole breadroll as in two rich halves!!! Really rich!
The "new Ingo" kept asking questions, I was about to kill him! As if it wasn´t tough enough!
I still believe our tram runs with direct, not alternating current - I have to look it up.
Eddy current it is not, I am sure. Tesla sure was a genius, sadly the "teacher" did not go deeper into this - I certainly have a book of this dude on my kindle... Can someone please give me reading-time??? I still have not finished the owls-book!

P.S. on last post: I always buy the "damaged", cheap books. Or, well on kindle.
Our library is ... a horror place for people who are afraid of heights.
All glass. I went but once, hence.
"New" colleague K said you can borrow online. I´ll check that. But will never go in person again.

Friday: We finished our "class" at 1:00 p.m. - no lunch provided. Needed to eat the chocolate they gave us, brrr, sweet.
Colleague K and I walked direction home. She (!!! Woman!!!) lives right around the corner. Where we stood. For two whopping hours, chatting! Weeee... living in a men´s world and finding a woman who thinks alike is a gem! She works for ALSTOM, too, and will keep her eyes open for me. Double-win!
And... she will check on "The 4th Dimension" by Rudy Rucker.
I´ll soon have the whole Braunschweig-team hooked on that! 🤣

Wanted something to eat and checked former Taco-guys. Shut. Maccas - full to the brim, went home hungry and ate a slice of bread, how disappointing! But then...
Think of those who stay hungry and be thankful!

Weekend: Saturday: Got up early, went to the market - the pumpkin-guy remembered Ingo!!!
We got into a "fight". I don´t fight no more. Is that good or is that a very bad sign? I just close the door, disappointed.
Do you still fight for your love?

Sunday: Slept alone. Ingo stayed on his sofa. None of us fights no more.
All seems OK, but I get tired and sad about this.

Munch-wise:

Art-wise:

I´ll miss this.... 8C / 46F, it is Fall.
And Henry 🦁...

Reckon these two will have another chat today!
See that bottle???? So 1960´s!!!! LOL!!!!

I so fight for the love, once in a while I wonder why I bother but overall i'm glad I stick to it.

I needed a break. All good now, but sometimes... Some fights are just not understandable to me.

Your course sounds exhausting. You really found a great cake for Henry!
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com

It was. But interesting as well!
Wish I had that cake for real for Ingo...

Nice that you found a kindred spirit in the woman colleague from Alstrom. Sounds like you had an uber busy week. Though it's nice to work from home, it's still work. Sometimes I think other think work from home is goofing off all day. Nice job on the watermelon painting, but I'd rather have a slice of Henry's cake. That's awesome. Happy T Day

CJ, yes, K is also ESE but working for ALSTOM. I so hope I can come back!
Yes, it is work!!! You are right, some do not see this. And some do not work!!
Well, I had pizza :-)

That's a sweet photo that you ended your post with. And I can't believe there are place still working off of paper. Now I will admit, I like paper, and it has a place, but I'm not sure if a train job is a good place for that. You definitely sound very empowered making that decision. That's a thumbs up. I hope you're having a great T day Iris. I woke up too early and I want to go back to sleep, but then I would waste half the day. Hugs-Erika

...what a cake!!!

Erika, I am so lucky that team understood I prefer to work from home and also I am not willing to give up on ALSTOM.
They also said it is not my job to find myself a job, that´s my teamleader´s... Paper, really.
If there is no other way I´ll take the job of course. And empowered sounds scary!
To waking up early... or not ;-) Hugs!

Tom, sadly not mine/Ingo´s...

Observing all these new and current working methodologies I understand how lucky I was to serve in the Coast Guard where there was no need to understand how to work in a team because a crew is born as a team!
However I am sure that you are a very good colleague for everyone and wherever you work.

Love your watermelon painting.
I buy used books as well. Your library sounds interesting, although I do not like heights either.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

Hi Iris, Good decision not to take the job in the office with all the paper plans. I also work from home and would find it difficult to go back into an office environment. Love your watermelon artwork today. I miss summer already, our weather is horrible. Fighting is no fun, I used to hear the neighbours fighting through the walls, that was not nice. Happy T Day! Elle xx

You definitely wouldn't enjoy working in an office with paper, it does sound boring. Nice journal, it's always fun to read.

If you choose to workv from home and your company lets you, that would be my choice, too. Paper has its place, like some blueprints, but not for rails,

Sorry you are fighting. Thankfully, I have no one to fight with, nor do I care to. I'd rather find a solution than fight. Sometimes avoiding is as bad as fighting. Calm and steady.

I LOVE math. I know it can be frustrating if you don't understand it, though.

Nice milk and cookies. thanks for sharing your calendar and your milk and cookies with us for T this Tuesday, dear Iris. I hope next week is better and less stressful. At least you made a friend.

Love the 1960s picture! Super fun. Happy Birthday to him!

My hubby and I fight sometimes - a part of marriage. Hoping things go better for you both.

You are lucky to work from home. I still get to work from home 3 days a week. They say they are going to reduce that to two soon. It will make me sad.

Sounds like you are learning some interesting stuff. Glad you found a new work friend too.

Happy t-day, Love the drink, cookies, lunch, and that awesome looking cake.

Hugz and have a fab week, Iris.

42 years together we really don't fight, butt.... I make sure I get what I want and that sometimes works into an arument. I always get my way. LOL Ingo's dad was very good looking. I like your summer Brekkie. I do enjoy your art filled journal. Have a good evening.

Happy Birthday Ingo!
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your feet and hope it can be fixed quickly.
If you ask, does Ingo tell you why he is angry or is there just shouting? I hope you can both "talk it out" when he calms down.
I love your drawings, the brain oen to receive data, the fingers walking, all funny and well drawn.

Black Knight, most are good team-players, luckily!

____

Kate, thank you, it was fun to make.

____

Elle, yes, once having the luxury of working from home makes it difficult to get back.
And then in the dark half of the year, no thank you!
We fought without words... I think the week was too tough for both of us. For me at least... xx

____

Bill, yes, totally boring!

____

Elizabeth, yes, plans from the 1960s even, hard to read as the color has faded.
I think the week was too tough for me hence it did me good to be by myself.
I just gave Rudy Rucker´s 4th dimansion to a math-loving colleague (we have a second copy).
This week speeds by again, noooo.....

____

RedPat, yes, not nice of Henry! ;-)

____

Christine, all long good again, reckon it just was too much stress.

____

Padre, yes, cool, huh? Cheers!

____

Nancy, all good, yes, occasional fights are normal, I think.
I don´t see a reason to not work from home! Hope your boss changes mind! Hugz

____

Nicole, yes, argument might be the better word.
Yes, luckily Ingo takes after his Dad :-)

____

Spyder/lyn, I could imagine this is a real cake! But too precious to eat, I think.
Never a fight? That is interesting!

____

magiceye, thank you :-)

_____

River, doc´s app mid-November. Argh. OK, things could be worse...
The fight... I think the week was too tough, I was too tired to even ask, but all is well again.
Thank you, the journal really keeps me on track!

How nice to have a new Alstrom friend. I hope you connect again. Rick and I don't really fight. But when you live in two differnt houses, it's a lot easier!

Iris Flavia said...

Well, it was Siemens, maybe I described a bit crazy...

I could not imagine - again - to live in different places - we did this for far too long, never again.
