T STands For PffffTTTTT (make a wish - Not Reykjavik)

Monthly you find this paper in front of the house, this time reporting SPRING is on the way. YAYYYY. Actually it was that hot I´d call it SUMMER!!!!

From 4C (39F) to 27C (81F)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUMMER!
CRAZY!
Sadly down to a max of 18C / 64F and cloudy...

Certainly I cannot buy gesso here (don´t wanna go online for that), but used acrylics and think it worked out OK, what do you think? You still see the background but it´s not dominating too much, is it?

There is the (German?) saying that if you manage to blow all the stems in one piece you have a wish granted, so, take a deep breath and PFFFFFTTT WISH!

 What is yours?

Henry 🦁.. he´s a big happy cat and just...

Food-wise...

Hmmmm.... So simple and fresh!

Whilst we´re in nature...
This is for Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday" hence:

To be honest... wasn´t that yum....

Henry wished for more 😉

Journal:

Made Pizza muffins and lasagna, Bro called, I saw an empty Litfaßsäule, a symbol for today... Corinna says "hi"... Never have  seen this before, such a sad sight...

Finally tested and played with my new toy!
And die Maus gave the elephant a snail mail, so cute.

And for Tom:

And... ???? I got confirmation my application for a job in Braunschweig arrived.
From...  Monrovia, Reykjavik.

??? The ad was in German hence I applied in German. And I sure do not want to work in Reykjavik!!!
That´s Iceland!!! That´s cold... and far away, too!
OK, yes, I know, it´s outsourced help, but... strange beginning, if there is a story even.

I never tell what my wish is because then it won't come true. Of course a lot of my wishes don't come true anyway, but why spoil the chances?
I hope you get the job.

Iris Flavia said...

No, I agree, you must never tell your wish.
Oh, I want the job, but here in Braunschweig. I´d freeze my butt off in Reykjavik! 🥶 Really, I mean... how come my application ended up there. I know they have fairies, but... no way.

All my life I have blown dandelion seedheads and made a wish. Never stopped to think why, it was something we grew up with.
Our temperatures are fluctuating crazily as well. Frosts one day and back to highs the next day. Mama Nature is making a hard job of changing seasons, I reckon :)

Iris Flavia said...

Hope some wishes came true 😘
Yes, Mama Nature is a bit "through the wind", as we say here...

About the dandelion, it's the same here. BUT: you're not allowed to tell anyone. If you do: it's not going to work!

...spring and summer always come if we wait long enough. Thanks for the Cookie mugs, they are a style that I have never seen before. I hear the Iceland is lovely this time of year.

Iris Flavia said...

Bertiebo, you are right, psssst ;-)

____

Tom, you´re welcome :-)
No thank you, Iceland is not for me!

Such beautiful art, the embossed dandelion heads look so pretty and match the image wonderfully 😀. Glad the weather is finally warming up and feeling like summer and you that you celebrated this on your journal pages! It looks like you had a busy week too. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x

Oh no Iris, I had a couple of dandelions in my lawn the other day and I did for one moment think about blowing and making a wish but the thought of all the seeds flying down onto the lawn put me off 😉 Good to know they received and acknowledged your application Iris, even though it's in the wrong location 💜

Loving your art page-I think the acrylic paint worked well too. ahh when we were children we loved blowing on the dandelion seeds-good memories. enjoyed seeing your journal pages too and Henri Happy new week hugs Kathy

I like those mugs.

You wouldn't like the temperatures in Reykjavik for sure. When I was there several years ago in late July, they were having a heat wave. Only 15.5 degrees C. It was the hottest temperature of the year to that date. But if you can blow on the dandelion, then maybe a job will appear. The perfect job. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I do like your page, and the background isn't too much. Perfect without gesso. Rose flavor isn't big here, so I can't say I've tried it. Is it sweet? Have a wonderful T day Iris and I hope you get out for a beer soon too. Hugs-Erika

Jo, thank you, sadly it cooled down again, buhuuuu...

____

Grace, oh, why not take a dandelion onto the street to make a wish next time? 😉
Well, reckon they´ll send the app back to Braunschweig... it´s a crazy world...

____

Kathy, yes, I still do that, blowing for a wish - to a happy new week, hugs from here

____

William, you´ll need cookies!

____

Erika, that is some heat wave, LOL. Not. I sure wished for a job.
The rose water tasted like water only...
In fact!!! Thursday we get tested on Corinna, and if negative I´ll ask our W out for a beer indeed! The brewery re-opened!!!

81 oF. Heaven! The temp. hasn't gotten that high, yet. Maybe 70 oF. on Thurs. Not Heaven but close. I love dandelions. I have a whole crop waiting to turn to fluff. Potential wishes! Your Pusteblumen piece is wonderful. No, the background doesn't dominate. The empty kiosk is a bit like the dandelion fluff, a space for potential wishes. I want the Cookie Monster mug. So cute and a spot for your cookie! Happy T Day

From 4 to 27! Wow that is some rise! Yet lower than the minimum in Mumbai!

Iris Flavia said...

CJ yes, it was HEAVEN!
Let´s make loads of wishes :-)
And always have space for a cookie, he, monster :-)

magiceye, yes, it was ! BOOM, summer was here. And left again ...

Your weather sounds like mine. We hit record highs last week and now I'm freezing. it is cold in this room because I put my little heater away and am too lazy to get it back out.

I like your embossed page. I like how the background shows through just enough to create interest. As always, I love your calendar pages. I've never seen one of those columns here. They have flat boards, but no columns.

I had rose water once and didn't like the taste. It tasted like a rose smells and it turned me off. However, I have to admit, this is the first rosewater we've ever had for T. Thanks for sharing your art, your embossing, your calendar, and your rosewater with us for T this Tuesday, dear Iris.

Iris Flavia said...

Crazy weather everywhere it seems!!!
Thank you, I do my best with the journal but am not sure where the difference between gesso and acrylics is!
No more rose-water from here, my dear ;-)

We have been having cold mornings too!

I have made my wish but a secrete. LOL. I love your art today very nice indeed. I wish we could get some hot weather here. It is always so cold and windy. Love your mugs they are too cute. Yeah, Iceland, a bit to far to drive to work. LOL Have a good day.

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, sadly it cooled down here, too, and no way I go to Iceland, even if it was just around the corner ;-)

We're having unseasonably chilly weather here, but summer will come soon enough. I love the heat! I'm a fan of dandelions and enjoy spreading the seeds with or without wishes :) Happy T Tuesday!

Iris Flavia said...

Make it with wishes, just for the fun of it :-)

gigi-hawaii said...

I have never been to Iceland, but it has a nice reputation. But, I know how you would prefer to work in Germany.

Iris Flavia said...

gigi, Braunschweig, really, Braunschweig... nowhere else. Perth, ok, to that I would say YES without hesitation!

Bill said...

Very cool mugs. Iceland is definitely not for you. :)

Lisca said...

I laughed at your not wanting to go to Iceland! Actually, the email does not come from there (or from Monrovia which is in Africa). It indicates a time zone. The office that sent it does not have a particular Microsoft setting for the timezone and it defaults to Monrovia Reykjavik. If you Google: Why does my email say Monrovia Reykjavik, you will get an answer.
How wonderful that spring has arrived (or was it a short summer?)
I love your embossed dandelions. But the empty event pillar is very sad.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

Your embossing is so pretty and I really like that the background peeks through. I am a firm believer in extra texture.
Those tomatoes looks juicy and delicious! One of my favorite parts of summer is the homegrown fruit.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

I recall blowing danilion around, hope you get job.
Coffee is on and stay safe

Iris Flavia said...

Bill, yes to both, LOL!

____

Lisca, d'oh, LOL! I assumed it was correct as I worked with people from India.
Wow. They wanna hire a tester and this is the first step?! Not good.
Summer left... 12C, cloudy, and yes, sad Litfaßsäule... hugs :-)

____

Kate... sorry to say... the tomatoes are from ALDI... We have but a small balcony...

____

Dora, thank you, hopes are not high on the job. It´s Corinna these days...

That is strange that your application landed in Rykjavik! Maybe it's for online help so you can actually work anywhere.
Your dandelion art looks nice. I do remember blowing them when I was a kid, we always had fun with so little :)

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, I think it´s online help desk there, I sure won´t beat the cold!!!
I agree, we needed but little - as my Nieces, too! Still nothing about the Christmas pressie! My phone calls were really enough, it seems!

Your posts are always so fun to read! Great idea to tone down the background with acrylics rather than gesso. Love your journal pages too - so fun to see what you are up to. Sad the drink was not yum - it looks interesting. How fun to see a mug that encourages you to eat cookies too - I had a few too many of them yesterday and will have to be filing my days with sport as well! Pizza muffins sound yummy!

Wouldn't Iceland be a fun adventure though! I think it would be too cold as well but really adventurous. If it was work from home maybe you could at least travel to the home office sometimes. We are still working from home but starting to hear the rumblings of going back soon. I am sad as it would steal away 2 more hours of my day that I have loved having back (due to travel time).

Have a great week. Happy late T-day!

Iris Flavia said...

Well, Elizabeth makes me fall for new drinks, and it´s mostly yum!
As are the muffins - and healthy, too, they´re low-carb.

Nah. Iceland is way too cold for me, reckon it´s just a company that evaluates and sends the "let´s see"-ones to the real company in Braunscheig.
