Perfect Temps For Some!

For Eileen´s Saturday Critters let me take you back to Zoo Hanover - even if some of you do not like the concept, I think zoos are good to arise awareness of the critters we need to protect also outside of the zoos.
This giraffe sure was not cold and likely beautiful come dark but we were there around lunch time already after Banksy (see more on that on Monday, if you like).

These guys were feeling good in these temps, that´s for sure!

Please bare with me... these were taken from Canada through a thick window.

This, on the other hand.. was too fast, way too fast, it reached it´s receiver long before Christmas, I am sorry!

bertiebo, I am sorry for publishing, Ingo saw your comment and wanted to see the card...

Yes, K is another "sharer" and believe me... this was more than enough! And... it was warm inside!!! And the station was so fun! It was like milking a cow to get your ketchup etc, FUN!

The wolves were so active, it was a joy to see - really, they have space and did not look unhappy at all.

Yips, we were "in Canada" - it sure felt like it!!! More to come. And to this bloggy friend:

Henry 🦁

It warmed up to 4C / 39F, the snow is gone! (Yippee!).

Hello, Iris
I agree, the zoos are good for raising awareness of all the endangered animals. Love the giraffe and the wolves are cool. The Santa card is cute.
I feel the same as Henry, I am not a fan of winter or snow. I enjoyed your critters and photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

Glad to see the animals enjoying themselves, even in the cold.

Eileen, thank you for hosting! It´s always nice to see your critters! Have a great weekend!

Shiju, I think wolves rather suffer in the heat! They seemed happy in the weather (we not so much).

Goodmorning Iris, I enjoyed your post-I agree with you about zoos-there are many good ones here in the states and I think they give the animals allot more space now too and it educates.
I loved seeing the wolves thank you. when I was able to visit Yellowstone park on the west side in a nearby city I visited a large wolf park. These were wolves and big bears too that would have been put down from too much people contact or needed rehab. It was very large and very educational too.
thanks for the shout out-I think I will be baking this weekend too-for therapy-I have gingerbread cut out dough in the refrigerator right now too. thank you for the prayers-hugs from the lake Kathy

Dear Kathy, glad you liked the Hanover-bunch of wolves and Yellowstone must be a wonderful experience!
Ingo will put on the oven today, too. With... kale! First try!
I still have a gingerbread-man at my PC he says: Have fun baking!!!
Big hugs and to healing...

Someone once told me my last dog Harley looked like a big old wolf. And yes, he did. Only he had a cute face. :) I love seeing those photos. I once saw wild wolves in Canada and it was a highlight of my wanting to see animal list to date.Keeping this short, I'm off for the day. hugs-Erika

I've never seen a wolf in the wild. The ones you saw seem to be enjoying themselves, Iris.

I appreciate zoos that participate in captive breeding programs and who showcase animals that are rare or extinct in the wild.

My first dog was part wolf and was so lovable. I had him for almost 13 years and still miss him.

Erika, fun name for a dog. We had a Harley Davisdon and called her "Moped". Still sad we sold her.
These wolves sure were half-tame. It even seems they knew there are people sitting in the house! Hugs to that!

____

RedPat, they loved the cold weather, I am sure (we... not so much!).

____

Divers and Sundry, Zoo Hanover is all in! Also in contact with other zoos, the Elephant guy told us.

____

Bill, yes. Sounds stupid ... but I miss the mouse I once had! Not stupid at all, is it!!

I saw "Tom's " new baby giraffe in our newspaper last Thursday, the mother's name is Scarlett and this is her third baby, born on November 18th. It's a boy.
I do think zoos have a place, people can visit and learn about animals they may never otherwise see.
I love the wolves they are one of my favourite animals.
