T STands For Sun-SeT

The fancy drink Ingo brought - we shared the tiny thing and it was too sweet, but the gesture is what counts, right, and with this I join Elizabeth´s T 🥰

The journal:

Monday: The laziest day. I got up early but then just DVDs, doing a bit here, a bit there...
Is this a sign of getting old? Of disappointment work is no work atm?
Teamleader thanked us for being patient even. But I am afraid of losing the job.

Tuesday:
Tried Vegemite and liked it, see here...
Granpa (work-Lenovo) had another fit!!! Had to shut "him" down - off electricity for 5 minutes - and all was fine.
I think he is alive. Grumpy due to the Easter-break? I need my three monitors and he knows it!
mT helped on the way later - fun chatting along.

Wednesday: Work, just more research, other lazy and well!!! I at least set up the walking pad. A wee bit of sport watching EUREKA.

mM called me - we´ll work hard for the Aussie-project! Nice, long chat, too. Also private stuff.
You need great colleagues, a great company - ESE it is!

Yippeeeee... mM told our teamleader he NEEDS me in the Aussie project!

Thursday: Thanks to River I ordered Warehouse 13 at amazon. HELP! Voyager was in the pipe, now this, too! I need to retire and watch DVDs full time (kidding!).
Good thing I have my walking pad out and can watch whilst walking!
Nice, long (private) chat on teams with fK, discussion on fire with mM (will have to ask Ingo on top).
Mm called again... we talked about... 🍻 beer! We are Germans... 🤣 Oh, and fire. Batteries,... scary stuff... After all we are F&S, Fire and Safety! Life has quirky ways!

Friday: After a fail at the doc for a transfer yesterday (wait of 30+ minutes for nothing) I tried again.
German bureaucracy! No success.
Nice chats with fK and horrible new infos on batteries and fire, uhhhhh...
Ingo got me... two trains.

I think I can open a kindy or toy store soon!

Weekend: Saturday: Ingo is done with bread at work and we thought hard about alternatives.
If you have ideas, - easy ones - please share.
Eggs are out of question, too - we´re at müsli, tomatoes, apple, pears, nuts, bananas, carrots...
Hell, he should have enough?
He also came home with loads of fancy drinks, guys, ladies, I am covered for T-DayS!
Then yummy Toast Hawaii.
Sunday: Finished EUREKA - such a happy ending! - and started WAREHOUSE 13 - it´s a (a!) Pandora´s Box - I wish for a ferret now 😉. And no, the stun gun was only named after Nikola Tesla - he did not invent it (says this link). See... Tesla waits on my kindle, too!
Cloudy day for chilling out is an excuse, right?
Certainly Die Maus.

So, munch-wise:

Stop!!! To people from Hawaii or Hawaii-lovers:
This is a dish from the 1950´s when Germany got better after WWII but not good yet.
This dish was invented by West German TV cook Clemens Wilmenrod  for all those who dreamed of having the money to go to Hawaii (I still dream of that).
It is (wiki) "an open sandwich consisting of a slice of toast with ham and cheese, and a maraschino cherry in the middle of a pineapple slice, baked so that the cheese starts to melt."
Why does wiki stress it was a West-German chef? East Germans were not allowed to leave Sovjet Union so it would made no sense for them at all.

Can you believe those cherries can go bad?
They can. Ingo insisted on a black olive instead.
It was YUM.

 To another!

The best news is you are wanted on the new project and your job is secure.

Loved the bunny sleeping on the egg. Looks like an egg, too.

Darling legos for the trains. Ingo is so good to you. Doubt I will ever try vegemite. I don't think we get it in the states.

That may be a tiny drink, but it was great of Ingo to get it for you to share. Thanks for sharing it with us, too, as well as your wonderful calendar this week, dear Iris.

Dear Elizabeth, thank you. I hope we get the project!
Bunny says thank you and yes, guess what I got yesterday from Ingo? A train!!!!
Well, when back in Perth I will buy Vegemite - or maybe really order via amazon!
To a healing week!

It's been a long time since I had toast Hawai. Will try again soon!

Do, was yum!

...so that is Hawaiian Toast. Tanks, but I'll pass.

Haha. I never know what to expect from you, Iris. You guys have this romantic view of Hawaii. Toast Hawaii sounds good. I have the bread, the ham, the cheese, but need to buy pineapple slices and black olives. And bake it. I'll give it a try.

Tom, it´s yummy!

gigi, nonono! Try that cherry - the olive was only cause the cherries went bad!
Yes, I always think of Magnum, P.I.!

You have some super drawings today Iris. I feel like that Easter bunny today, but maybe a bed or my couch instead of an egg-grin. And nice trains too. My daughter built one of those motorized Lego trains that she puts around her Christmas tree base. I really need to check out Legos I think. :) I hope you're having a super T day. hugs-Erika

Erika, thank you, I prefer our Hollywood-swing above an egg, too!
I got another train. Pic please of your Daughter´s? To a super T-Day, hugs!

Yay on the job news! Do you collect trains? That's a cool hobby. The Hawaiian toast sounds delicious. We will have to try that. We like toast with avocado, tomato, ham, cheese, egg, and sour cream piled on top. Delicious!

I was in automotive for 16 years... now I´m in railway and Ingo does not stop buying them!
So well.... he made me collect trains ;-)
Please take such a cherry, not an olive on top of the toast (see link in post).
Oh, if getting avocados wasn´t so difficult here!

Sorry the drink too sweet

Hi Iris. I don't like overly sweet drinks either. Yes, it was very nice of Ingo. I go back and forth on bread. Right now I'm not eating it, mainly because a loaf of bread here is so flippen expensive. When I can I will bake bread but it is not a necessity for me. Glad you are wanted for the job. Uhhmmm who wouldn't want you? You are a good worker. Never had Hawaii toast. Have a great day today.

Good morning Iris, I enjoy your T posts with your drawings. I do not care for sweet drinks either. Loved the photo of Henry Happy you had a good week-hugs from the lake where it is cloudy and a bit chilly today rain coming

Iris Flavia said...

Christine I find many things too sweet ;-)

Nicole, what, bread too expensive? Yes, prices have risen here, too, but we can still easily afford it. What a crazy world!
Thak you, glad people think like you and want to work with me :-) Try toast Hawaii, it´s refreshing and yummy!
To a great day!

Kathy, I think I never had a sweet tooth, not even as a kid! Henry says thank you and oh, yes, temps fell here, too and no sun today... To better days everywhere, hugs to you and the lake!

I always enjoy your journal pages, Iris. It must be fun for you to look back at the older pages.

Thank you, RedPat - it helps to remember what I did all week!

Iris Flavia said...

"Nur" zweimal! ;-)

I love your toy trains! and the drawing of the bunny sleeping on the easter egg.
Can Ingo eat meat? He could take some German sausage or similar as well as the fruits and veggies?

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, Ingo loves meat - he had BiFi and sausages like that so often, he is through with that also, gah! And every Friday they have German sausages it the company...
He must eat to take his meds (thankfully, I think otherwise he´d eat near to nothing!).

I'm glad you had a good week. Now all you want is for the project to go ahead and the knowledge that you have a job! It's great of your colleague to insist on having you on the team.
I love toast hawaii. I think that any dish with pineapple will be called 'something Hawaii' (like pizza Hawaii).
I haven't heard of Eureka, but I googled it and found it is a TV series of a group of scientists in the Pacific ocean. I like a bit of sci-fi so I might stream it and watch.
I hope you have another good week.
