With this sadly super-sweet drink from last Saturday I join Elizabeth´s T again - it was a wonderful warm summer´s day, friend fK and I were enjoying ice-cold drinks watching people and a high-performance group of break-dancers.
The journal:
Monday: Some whopping 2 documents in 9 hours, phew.
Still works in the cellar.
Heating is on. In September!!
My feet hurt - I really need to contact the doc. It´s getting scary.
Helgoland is cancelled. Would take forever, as they changed plans and we would be stuck for a long time and this in the cold weather.... no thank you - sorry, Mom... Last time I was 9 years old... and all I remember is I happily ate licorice on the rocky boat whilst my little brother needed a barf-bag....
Tuesday: On teams with fK. I needed a paper from under the keyboard, lift it and... BOOM my middle monitor turned black. Restart - problem even bigger as teams, that I have on the left, opened in the middle and that thing was still black, how to get help?
Glad it went that way, I solved the problem myself. mT would´ve likely laughed about me..
And now my workplace is so far away from the board, I can finally fill in the stuff I need near to never.
Help, please.
I have two baby-photo-albums of big Niece - Bro gave me Mum´s, too.
From little Niece there is NONE.
I don´t flip through them, they just eat up space in our small condo.
Give them to big Niece as "a secret"?
Wee one would be hurt learning there is sooo much of her big Sis and nothing of herself - can big Niece keep the secret? She turned 14....
Wait till she turns 18 and put them wrapped up in the cellar meanwhile? Yes? Any idea?
I don´t see myself sitting there as an old lady going through them, but she would probably...
I meet them maybe every two years, so... there is no bond anymore...
Wednesday: I think my work-day was too tough, my brain was empty...
Ingo´d ordered... Lego/BlueBrixx. Reckon you can guess what?
Yes, trains, like this one and more.... Of course.
Please... encourage Ingo to make room on his table to build the trains - I SO look forward to see the results!!!
Ingo: OK, gotta go and download the construction instructions.
Me: They aren´t in there?! What does someone without internet do????
Ingo: It was an online-order...
As said, empty brain here... Zombie.
Warm night on the balcony. Bat-watching :-)
They are too fast for taking pictures, of course - but hearing and seeing them on a warmish night was fun.
Thursday: 10:00 a.m. invitation to an "Inside Insight"-Meeting at 04:30.
Only CEO #1.Telling us business is running not good all all. Ceo #2 has different tasks now, #1 hired a consulter etc. We´re a party of 450 peeps, many without project. There will be no tariff increase this year.
When done there was time for questions.
I nearly fell off my chair. First question so quickly came in, if also in April there will no increase?
HELLO?????
In the Diesel affair my then-company lost some projects, too. Boss gathered us all (in person) and said: 2 possibilities: those people have to go or we ALL get less salary for a while.
Apart from one everybody raised hands for less salary.
This ESE-tariff-guy should ... get nothing at all for a while.
It was wonderfully warm again (for late September)
Friday: Got 3 Max-pics, as if my friend knew I am anxious about the job.
mK (project manager) told me not to worry - but I do.
Customer asked me for a teams-meeting on Monday.
200 hours were the deal. I worked 528 cause the customer sent a fat packet in addition (yippee). I am not to worry.
That Thursday-meeting gnaws on me.
Weekend: Saturday: Met up with friend fK to visit our company at "Day of the rail"... met nice colleagues, got some cool gimmicks, had ice cream and finally visited Brunonia! Hiiiiigh up, post to come. She´s even bigger than the one in Berlin!
It was a wonderful sunny, warm day.
Finally later met her wife, too- son was joining with a fat yellow winter-wool knit-hat. To be a bored teenager again (not),LOL.
When home Ingo and I went onto the balcony to watch bats again.
Awwww. Summer-nights!
Sunday: Pics-and chat-exchange via teams and WhatsApp with fK...Hilarious.
Munchy:
At "Day of the rail" - suiting my shirt, as fK pointed out.
Was kinda... "earthy" she commented (we shared).
Sadly saw the sign ""REUSABLE" only on the pic :-(
Sunday:
Those who know me... I am AFRAID of anything hot, yet, as Ingo refused I managed to make a "great" BBQ.
He refused just to hurt me. Sad. Spoon is a "blue Gurri".
And....
Common sense is nothing more than a repository of prejudices that have become established in the mind before one is eighteen years old."
Henry 🦁 sends Granpa Max...
At least one of us.
I am out. Maybe without job, maybe without "more", it seems so.
Ingo: Then look for another job.
Yah. In good times ....only.
I feel like I´m drowning.

Beetroot ice cream? I can't think of anything worse!
Is it for sure your job is over? Maybe there is still some part you can do? I would vote to work for less money too if I had to. I always worry when businesses call in consultants becaue they are already not making enough money and now the consultant also has to get paid.
Keep a real photo from each year and put them in an envelope. Scan the rest of the photos, put them on a stick. Stick in the envelope and store
I would have advised the same thing as Bertiebo. When clearing out my mum's apartment, I did exactly that. I took photos of photos snd tore out a few I want to keep and the rest went in the bin.
I'm dorry you're nervous about your job. But. until they officially sack you, I suppose you still have a job. Don't worry until you have toi.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Well, that ice-cream was... "interesting".
I try not to panic. I will suggest to keep me without money, a "sabbatical", kinda, if nothing pops up. As we own the condo I could manage some months. or find some other solution - I just don´t want to quit ESE... Yes, consultant oand one CEO gone sounds really bad...
It´s baby-pics from her first months... Two real fat books...
Thank you - I´ll scan some favs and.... bin sounds so hard! Let´s see... but thank you :-)
...perhaps I need a bat-detector, I've never seen a bat. I like beets, but beetroot ice cream???
You've had quite a week -- and weekend, too. I'm not a fan of beets but that ice cream is pretty. I'd save the pix (if you have room) till niece is 18. That would be a lovely gift. You are sensitive and thoughtful to consider little sister (though that's the way it always seems to be with the first born compared to the others!)
If I were you I would start discretely looking for another job. But you have to figure it out. Your management doesn't sound encouraging.
Good luck!

Boy, what a week. I would sure try that ice cream! Beets are kinda sweet, so maybe?
I am so sorry about the job worries. Such uncertainty is difficult, and probably affects your focus too. Hang in there!
Ingo being mean? What? Shame on him. I guess we all have bad days. My husband can be a real stinker sometimes. But I guess its all part of being married. No saints in this house for sure!
You´ve never seen a bat?! Oh, they are so cute! I think that detector was under €10. Go for it :-)
Thank you, Jeanie. I´ll scan in some and put the lot in the cellar for the next 4 years.
Yes, movies, pictures ... all that from me. Bro.... nada....
It really clearly was beet root... But I often try new things :-)
Yes, I can be a stinker, too. Let us see what the future brings....
I have boxes of old family pics, some of my grandparents, my parents, and then the family when I was growing up. I don't know what to do with them but couldn't think of throwing them away. Give them to your niece in a few years.
I have not heard of a bat detector-sounds neat one year when I was walking in our woods I saw a bat hanging on a branch-during the daytime-Larry says he must not have made it back home
glad you got out a bit, tell Ingo to share train photos when he puts them together-sounds fun. sorry about your job--this is a bad time of year for searching for a new one-and what a pain that is--happy tuesday hugs
Will do and so long they live wrapped up in the cellar...
Bats are important and I am happy there are so many here in the city.
So far not all is lost, job-wise - I still hope for a new Project.... hugs
Before we moved, I scanned all my old family photos that my mom gave me and throw away the others. I felt bad but I don't miss them. Hope you can keep your job but it will work itself out. Your talented, Iris so you have some options that you probably don't even know about.
Thank you, Bill. Yes, I scanned all family pics, too.
But Niece, oh, well. When she was that little I saw her... twice. So... no bond at all.
I hope a project magically pops up and I can stay with ESE...
Please do not drown dear friend. Your creativity is very interesting and beautiful. Thank you
I think all younger children realize the first born gets all the film. A Day in the Life. The younger ones, a picture or two as a baby and maybe a few school pictures. 😺
Thank you Cloudia, I try my best....
Yes, sad, huh? And I wasn´t even planned - my Brother was wanted! By Mom....
