This is Blacky. My friend´s friend´s Sister´s cat.
As you maybe know I wanted a cat since I was four years old.
My Mom HATED cats and I was presented with two other beings:
Bro is OK, but Inka slowly and painfully died of cancer.
I had a mouse, she was so clever and sweet and grew real old, but when I came home from school and...
Then Max.
19 years old. My friend´s cat. He fell. He needed help eating and you can guess what.
He even needed help dying and I understood... I´d break.
I got a pic of him nearly every day and saw how he went worse - my friend did not see this and I did not say anything, what for, let her enjoy him as long as he´s around.
Max´s cat-friend was sick and jumped off the balcony on purpose in pain, my friend´s kids sadly witnessed this. The female cat needed a vet for the final phase, too.
Pets are family.
My friend is now on holiday in "East-Germany" and I get pics of that "unlucky" cat.
And no.
I appreciate and enjoy every pic, but to Ingo´s yippee I do not want any pet. Anymore.
They become family and they grow old way quicker than we do.
But then... I am too much family, too....Jumping off the balcony won´t help. "We" live first floor....
To all of you who brave up and take the process - most is JOY after all!!!
To critters, to responsibility. To love. My love is too big to stand this.
The new series:
"Typical habits of the 60s that would be unimaginable today
Smoking was heavily promoted in advertising and even advocated by doctors"
>>><<<< Prices are through the roof for ciggies and yet I see so many "kids" smoking (I walk by two schools when I see my doc) - meep.
Henry 🦁
Pic taken by Ingo as I was stuck behind taller guys.
Pollution would destroy Henry, so he has a double from "modern material" in his place.
OMG!!! IF you click the link, do NOT use the "read aloud page"-function!!!!
I think a French person tries to speak English. It is an AI.... "artificial"... mixes all up.
Good actually, humans are still needed...
Do, if you want to laugh.
To the WORLD.
There are accents, but we understand each other!!!! 🤣
Oh, boy. Let me go to Hamburg and in a sec I have THEIR accent as I was there as kid every summer!

What a journey with pets! It sounds like you've experienced a lot of love and loss.
Count in humans, too.
Hello,
I agree pets are family and it is very sad at the end when they leave us. I love the photo of you, Inka and Bro. The kitties are all adorable. The Henry sculptures are awesome. I do not know how people can afford to smoke, the price of one pack is crazy. The money goes up in smoke, a waste of money and good health. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy Easter weekend. PS, thanks so much for leaving me a comment.
Yes, family they are! And we all lost humans, too. And, in my parents´case ... cancer came from smoking. And what does Ingo do?
...thankfully most of us know the dangers of smoking. I "enjoyed" second hand smoke for way too many years!!!
You are right about pets.
We have lost so many pets that I can't do that anymore. It breaks my heart.
I always loved having dogs...not cats! lol But I don't have a fenced yard and don't think it would be fair to have a dog that couldn't play outside except of a leash. Hugs!
Cats are a world apart from dogs! Our old cat is 16 this year, fiesta as a kitten, and healthy so far.
It’s also sad when pets outlive their people. My neighbor adopted an “orphaned” dog. Tragically she also died, and he had to find a third home.
Jupp, in winter, car-windows closed...
... or beings in general?
Yes, reckon I´ll die "lonesome", "all by myself"...
Humans do their best, mostly. I was too young to decide for Inka... to caring, Cheers.
I think you would kill my neighbor. Two large (sometimes crying) dogs in a small condo... They own it, the condo, and the dogs - I can do nothing... thought about calling animal-rescue. But then I have to prove. How? Media can be fake. Hugs to you for caring better!
You imagine my four-year-old surprise when that dog jumped at me... in joy, to say hello!!! She knocked me over, I had a headache the rest of the day.
Yes, you often find pics of pets waiting for their lost humans... we are all beings.
Pets treat humans better than they treat the pets/animals.
I was too young, I did not know...
My mom didn't like cats either, but my dad preferred them. I think I learned to love them both from my parents. Even though I just have dogs now, we've had cats, but my hubby isn't a cat guy. Although one of the cats we had was his baby. When we first got her she went up to him and turned on her charm. So I'm not sure he isn't a cat guy because he really loved that cat. :) hugs-Erika
I have my cat Austin cuddled up against me now as I try to type this comment.
Memories you have are so bittersweet. It's good to talk about them, and I'm a good listener. I hope your present life involves happiness in it. Take care.
My Lola is getting old, she will be 17 in July, she was fine right up until about a month ago, now she is still healthy, but slower to jump up to the table where she used to eat and prefers her food on the floor out in the back porch where she sleeps the days away on her sheepskin rugs. 17 is 80 in cat years. I will miss her when she eventually dies, but I won't get another pet.
Hello Iris :)
Pets bring so much love into our lives but losing them is hard, so hard that I understand you not wanting another pet. I would love to try again, but know I wouldn't be able to look after one, either dog or cat,---I can barely take care of myself.
I am very much a fan of cats.
