T STands For "Holiday"

With this "Seasonal Edition" I join Elizabeth´s T. Winter is over, but 4C / 39F in the morning is not nice... It warms up over the day.

The journal:

Monday: Silent.

Tuesday: Uneventful (holiday, no sport allowed, weather shitty).

Wednesday: Nice!!!
a) No shower needed, there was rain! I had no brolly, and I LOVE rain.
b) cash-out guy SUPER-NICE to everybody. Those who know me in person: I say so.
Him, grinning still: "so many unhappy people pass by my cash-out, I do not know who pieselt in their coffee!" Pieseln  is the Northern word for doing pee. That after fK from East-Germany said, "Denn man tau!" on me telling her I go shopping. That is Northern language as well. As for "have fun".
c) an elderly man out of no-where started talking to me.  We had a nice walk over two BIG crossings.
Nice!

Thursday: Another spontaneous "I drive my daughter to school ... tea?" - day.
Another reason I want to get back to ESE - WE decide when we want to work!
And, OMG, fK told me mF does not have "the certificate", so they wait for me. PRESSURE.
She took the electronics to recycle for me.

Friday: Knalltüte! Neighbors, the arrogant ones, go on holiday and order stuff online and the mail-men (plural) ring our bell! Am I a second post-office??? Pop it in front of their door, our condo is small, I do not take it (for arrogant people - the woman does not even greet me).
There are options, online! I am none. Once we had three huge parcels for felt... a long time. No!
Went to see the dinos and it was a great adventure, people-wise, see here if you like!

Weekend: Saturday: Ingo went grocery-shopping and came home mad. But got me "real" liverwurst. Mimimi... tastes like... liver.
Friends via "bad FB". It´s a great tool if used well! Especially in different time-zones.
Then The Simpsons: Freddie Mercury!!!

Or rather this (for Ingo 🥰):

Sunday: DANCING at Löwenzahn! We cannot dance. But music makes everything better!!!

Die Maus was about railway AND electronics... and... a mouse!

Fairy tale: Rumpelstielchen. Went to the "Spring-Festival" - glad Ingo  stayed home, it was boring.

Munchy:

Too liver-y... But then I don´t wanna know what you get otherwise?
Funny enough fK told me of one that is "vegan", maybe I try that. After all Ingo likes vegan Schnitzel.

The series:

"Typical habits of the 1960s that would be unimaginable today

Bicycle safety

People participated in cycling events and recreational activities without wearing helmets."

Do you wear a helmet? I have a Braunschweig-one.

I don't ever remember wearing a helmet or even knowing what one looked like when I was a child. But I don't ever remember women wearing dresses when riding!

Too bad your holiday was cold and rainy. I would gladly trade you my heat for your cold. At least yo met great people and enjoyed the dinosaurs. That made up for the weather, at least.

Your cider looks good. I LOVE cinnamon. Thanks for sharing your calendar, your holiday, and your winter cider with us for T this Tuesday, dear Iris.

Dear host 😘 - as kid I bruised my knees so often via bike, skates, skateboard, but luckily never fell on my head. Never a dress!
Summer will be on the way and the nice people were a wonderful experience!
To Cinnamon! And a great T-Day!

I was a teenager in the sixties and don't remember wearing a dress on my bike but I have photos of me and my sister in mini skirts. I cycled to (secondary) school. It was 12 km. Helmets didn't exist even the Tour de France riders didn't wear one then.
I like it when people I don't know talk to me like when waiting at the till or in a supermarket (or at a pedestrian crossing). I am chatty like that.
But I hate the rain and am so glad I live in a dry region.
Your cider looks really nice. I love anything with cinnamon. Hot or cold? It would never have occurred to me to drink cider hot! But thinking about it, apple and cinnamon are a good combination to drink hot. How did you drink it? Hot or cold?
You're my best friend - Queen. Very good. I love Queen.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Sorry about a rainy holiday but it didnt hold you back. I don't ride a bike anymore but if I did, I wouldn't get on it without a helmet. They've saved Rick's life (or at least his head) multiple times.

I always enjoy the little drawings in your journal, Iris.

No helmets!

A nice, varied week! It must feel so good to be free of classes for a while.
Liver wurst, ummm, no. My mother loved it, me, yuck!
So cool that your job is waiting for you!
And helmets, no. They were not even around in the 50s and 60s when I was growing up. Now, I cannot imagine anyone not wearing one.

I used to love liverwurst with mustard sandwiches but haven't had any in years. It's hard to find here. Have at great day!

yum liverwurst, I tried it a few years ago and like it. Most supermarkets I'm sure would sell it here. Lucky our neighbrous are pretty independant and don't expect us to take their deliveries.

You must have a safe and shining aura for strangers to talk to you. Weather here is cool in the morning, but warms a bit in the afternoon. And since the weekend is coming, it will rain again. This will be the 3rd weekend in a row with rain. Bicycle helmets. Not when I was a kid. Roller skating as a kid: no helmet, knee, wrist, elbow pads. We just didn't know any better. Happy T Day

I love how you shared those little moments that brightened your days – like the rain you didn’t mind and the random but kind conversation with the elderly man. It’s funny how sometimes the smallest interactions, like a good exchange at the checkout or a spontaneous walk, can turn an ordinary day into something more memorable. The story about your neighbors sounds a bit frustrating, though. I totally get not wanting to be a delivery service for people who don’t even greet you.

Your happy dino drawing made me smile. I like the quiet page too. I bet that winter cider blend was delicious, as long as the cider isn't sweet. I like a nice tart hard cider. And nope, I don't think I got a bike helmet until I was older and my daughter was riding a bike. We used to go on a few bike riding trips to places where it was flat. But as a kid, I never wore a helmet, and I did fall off my bike on occasion. I hope you had a super T day. I was busy all day and late getting around to visit. hugs-Erika

After three cars on one route nearly hit me I wear a helmet. Three!!! It was scary! And I was looking out!
Yes, people often start chatting to me 💛
I had the cider cold. But on the Christmas-Market we had hot cherry-beer!
To Freddie/Queen!

Tom,,I wish you the same! With your Sweetie!

YES to helmets! I am again on holiday (as I was fast with the last chunk) and the sun is out!

Iris Flavia said...

Thank you, RedPat. They keep me sane! Otherwise the world just speeds by!

Iris Flavia said...

No?

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, just great to stop those classes for a while! I did it all in real life already.
Well, the studies take a while, I hope the job is still waiting then... Traffic is crazy here, so a helmet is a good idea. Though I hate it in summer.

Iris Flavia said...

Mustard- good idea!!!!

We are a party of 14 in this house and those I know and like I take their deliveries. Just not those! They live 2 meters from our door and do not greet.

Iris Flavia said...

Aura - that must be it, thank you!!! I am small. Smaller people ask me for help!
Yah, don´t you "love" it, come weekend weather turns shitty.
My knees and elbows as kid? Bloody hell 🤣

Iris Flavia said...

Thank you, yes, all true. Those people and the rain made my day!

Iris Flavia said...

The cider was yum, not too sweet at all. As kid I had bloody knees and elbows, but luckily never fell on my helm-less head! Hugs to that!!!

I never wore a helmet and my kids didn't either, I think helmets and laws to wear them came later. I have a bike and a helmet now, but can't ride, it hurts my hips, so the bike is in the shed and the tyres have rotted I think. I should get new tyres and sell the bike.
I heard "You're My Best Friend" on the radio recently but bad me, I couldn't remember it was Queen!
I don't like liverwurst, but my sister used to eat it by the spoonful!

Iris Flavia said...

My bike is right here, the tires flat. Since I lost my right ear I am afraid to drive - but I am willing to train!
What! Freddie sure was sad 😉
I´ll try to find the vegan "liverwurst"! They should rename it, though...

I never had a helmet either, and used to go flying downhill to T intersections where cars could appear at any time, but no cares in the world, just the fun of going really fast downhill lol. I don't like the fake meats, but then I don't like meat so why would I want to eat fake meat lol It is also so highly processed, not healthy. Happy T Day, I'm so late that it is almost T day again!
