Sorry, third post today, but I just want to share!
Do you like to do your taxes, or paperwork in general?
I plain hate it.
OK, so, when are taxes due, internet gave different answers and I got weird mails from the guys that host the software (online).
So. Last year I messed up with "their" software. Put my name first as I make this stupid stuff. Uh-oh. No. The Husband comes first! Who ever knew?! Also my name starts with "K", Hubby´s with "S".
Anyhows, I got a not so nice paper-letter from my contact-person, she had to redo it all (she could have said: do it again, but no, she just did it!).
As thank you I wrote a letter and put some teabags in (Corinna, huh, going in person to say thank you is no more).
Now, when are the darn taxes due? I called her. Ups. Her first day after her holiday, totally stressed, yet friendly, she obviously remembered me. Looked if the strange mail ended up at hers even, gave me the contact for the program and that dude was super friendly, too!
Despite he thinks it´s not important he gave me his e-mail-address, so he can have a look at it. Those tax-people are nice!
Bad: I have time till November 1st. As my contact... she said, too, she hadn´t even started. Procrastinators we are...

How´s it like in your place? I heard so much bad about people from the tax-office, they are unfriendly etc.... is it Corinna, that people are so nice?

I have my taxes done. Fortunately it's straightforward.
I hate filling up the tax forms but thankfully, I am done with that after I have retired. From my experience, I think most of the tax people are very friendly and helpful.

...when it comes to taxes my wife keeps all of the necessary paperwork together and then our accountant does the tax papers.
I´m too frugal for that, and also: I did it myself and got money back last time!!!
Himself does our taxes using a tax account program you pay for. That way if there's a problem, the company supposedly takes care of penalties or problems. THE IRS (tax authority) in US have a bad reputation. Everyone is worried about being audited.
My program is for free and a pain, LOL.
But paperwork in general is my enemy!

In Italy there is an official web site where we find on line a pre-compllated form with all the information we have to give and the amount to pay. We can accept or modify.
However the tax system is very complicated and most of people need a professional help.
We had semi-professional help and I always had to pay more taxes. Made it myself and got money back!
Let´s see what happens this time.
Bad thing is my Mum inherited a condo and that makes it all so complicated.

Those days are over for me now that I'm retired. It can be a pain for sure but at least it's once a year.

I don't mind doing the paperwork for things like taxes, but I'm retired now and don't pay taxes, so no more forms.
I used to do my husband's form too, we have separate ones here in Australia for every working person. Then I learned to do mine online and it was just as easy.
I have not worked for 29 years, ever since I became a SAHM.
Filling out those tax forms used to be such a pain.
