It´s A Journey

Went through job-offers.
Everybody looks for what we call the  "eierlegende Wollmilchsau" - lays eggs, gives wool and meat.

It is SO frustrating.
Then I found one. Made everything ready, you know, text-documents, turn that into .pdfs, merge them...
OK. Shoot, no e-mail, a form.
Could not get in and saw, hups, November last year I tried already, got a no, lost the password.

OK. I will not click "forgot password", right?!
Web.de-e-mail-address.

Change the text-dokument and check before going on.
Web.de needs a tester, for sure.
In the end I deleted that account.
Big frustration.

gmail-account, tested that, OK, turn into .pdf, merge, go on their site and register via that account.

It took me over an hour.
You see, I merge the documents so the person has it all in one.
Nooooo.
Some they want as single.

Some forms were not accessible (oh, they offered "Australia", should´ve clicked that maybe).
Said they´re a family business and.... you get the idea.
I at least got an automatic answer and just closed the page.

Maybe a tester would indeed be a good idea - kidding, I know they might come here, but really this was a pain.

Also talked to my tenant on the phone (she has no internet), talked to the person in charge via e-mail,...

Checked e-mail on taxes (will go on with that tomorrow, I´m done!)

Thought I can sit in the sun and read, but nooo. Have to go to the pharmacy, my eye-medication is used up (was sure I have a backup).

Henry 🦁 - he says... stay positive....

He´s always right, as are his kids.

I love Baby Henry! Rick's having tenant issues too. And you're right -- jumping through hoops on websites and forms -- what a pain!

Hate websites that confuse you when you're looking for something. It's very frustrating.

Yes, hang in there my friend. Something will turn up. Probably when you least expect it. I am going to have to find a job now that my business closed. At my age this will be a trick for sure.

I never learned how to do all that merging stuff and thank goodness I never needed it.
I remember being told by several job agencies that your resume should be as detailed as possible. "Put in everything!" they'd say. "All the job experiences, account for all the years since you left school" so we'd start out carrying resumes that were more like books. Then I learned from a few human resource people that any resume more than two pages long went straight into the bin, they simply don't have time to read more than that. So I reworked my resume until it was one page with a suggestion they could ask me personally if they wanted more details on anything.
Still didn't get a job from that. I eventually signed up to be a "Christmas Casual", an extra checkout worker at a supermarket to help with the Christmas rush of customers. That is usually for about two or three months and then they tell you if they don't need you anymore. But they never told me and I stayed for twelve years. Then I retired.

It sounds like if they are still looking for people that the job might not be so great. And it sure isn't easy to get to the paperwork either. Sorry this is so difficult Iris. But thanks so much for stopping by my blog with your nice comment (nice is always good, right?) and if you want to copy my page, sure go for it. Thanks for asking and even being interested. Hope the day is going well. Hugs-Erika

Dora, thank you, I will.

____

Nicole, we both need a lot of luck!! Why has your business closed?

____

River, yes, they change the rules as they like!
But you sure found a clever way, writing, well, then ask me personally!
Cool how how your Christmas Casual turned out!! Very cool.

____

Veronica Lee, thank you. It´s tough times for many...

Erika, they want THE BEST and I have but one year experience in that sector and it was a small company, so "we" (I) had to do it the old fashioned way.

Nice is always great and thank you for allowing me the print. Will maybe take a while cause the place is crowded as so many print out pics as they get them sent, not allowed to travel. Hugs from here!

Things should not be so complicated. You'd think with computers/internet having been around so long they would have worked these kinks out.
