Tiny, We Are

Does this count as mural?
Saw this on the way to Ingo´s bakery.
Well, the bakery I get his bread from, of course.

A man looked at me as if I was dumb for taking the picture of a "stupid child´s crayon-'something' on the sidewalk".

Was this a "stupid kid" or one confused by the war?
The house with the cat-like cloud and the warning sun with a helicopter cloud hovering inside a square above a house with green grass and a happy little girl...
A snail trying to escape (?) - all "safe" in a pic of it´s own.

And all this underneath a scenery  with sunshine, rain and a rainbow (you are granted a wish for), a second, happy sun and not-so-sure clouds above...

... a dog looking up in search for help.

Is that a flower pointing up and what is next to that, a child, hugging a dying person?

Maybe I should focus on the heart under the rainbow.

All will turn out good?

How can one man - AGAIN - turn the world black.

Maybe this was just a happy child enjoying the spring-weather doodling around and me as adult is interpreting all negative, fearful stuff into this?

Maybe that man looking at me that way was right - or... was he?

The first part looks like a pic stripped to a wall as if... maybe this was an adult artist after all?
In a side street in Easterly Ring Area?

Snow came, it must be gone now. The war... still here, everywhere.
I am fed up with life, too.

This is for Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals.

And if you´re into it... Herbert Grönemeyer saw it like this, Children should lead, the lyrics follow:

I admit, I asked DeepL for quick translating, here goes:

Children to Power

The armies from gummy bears
The tanks from marzipan
Wars are eaten up
Simple plan
Childlike genius

There is no good
There is no evil
There is no black
There is no white
There are gaps between teeth
Instead of suppressing
There's strawberry ice cream for life
Always a surprise

Put the kids in charge
They don't calculate
What they do
The world belongs in children's hands
Put an end to gloom
We'll be laughed into the ground
Children to power.

They are the true anarchists
Love the chaos, clean up the mess
Know no rights
No duties
Still unbowed power
Massive
Impetuous pride

Put the children in charge
They do not calculate
What they do
The world belongs in children's hands
Put an end to gloom
We'll be laughed into the ground
Children in power.

Tiny we are. And we all in this world together, aren't we?

I get weird looks from people when I photograph stuff too, I just ignore them.
I think that whole picture is by a child simply drawing about what he or she has heard, the helicopter indicates something about the war going on and the rest looks hopeful that things will turn out alright.

This sidewalk mural (a mural it is -- for us ;)) and the post made me smile. Super-sweet post!

May you find more cute chalk-murals on the way to Ingo's Bakery. :D And you may you share it and bring us joy! :D

Have a good week, Iris. :)

It was great to see the sidewalk mural. It has all the characteristics of a mural, too. Surprisingly more permanent than some.

Erika, yes, we all despite Putin...

____

River I felt sorry for the man - why not see and honor such artwork?
Bet the kiddo would´ve been proud :-)
And yes, in the end things hopefully turn out OK.

____

Dora, too many people still do.

____

dee, I´ll keep my eyes open today, as always :-)

____

Elizabeth, yes, some kids a re the better adults, are they....

I like your explanation. Maybe you are right, maybe not. But this war is terrible, that's for sure

Iris Flavia said...

Yes. And unnecessary. Evil.

I am glad that you took a picture of the mural, Iris. I think we can safely call it that. Children are more perceptive that we often give them credit for and many things can be read into this piece. As you say, one madman, has again imposed his own sick wishes on the world, and once again we stand on the sidelines and watch, sacrificing the people of Ukraine. The slaughter going on there is indescribable. Sanctions are no doubt biting into the Russian economy, but that is cold comfort to people burying their loved ones. Already the oligarchs are moving their money to places willing to turn a blind eye to their complicity in this obscene occupation of a sovereign country. It all makes me incredibly sad.

For the one looking down on earth, we are the tiny ones and yet can create so much chaos. Remembering all the suffering souls from both nations. Hope the war will end soon because it is going to affect everyone. The picture of Henry is so beautiful.

A happy picture of the house and nice weather, birds, and the smiling girl. Then sun coming out after the rain and a rainbow, and another sunny day with birds, puppy and flower. 3 masterpieces done on their own cement canvas with a frame.

Delightful find on the sidewalk! Going to listen to that song now.

Children's imagination is always magical!

What is the difference between a wall and the ground or sidewalk for a mural? I see none and this is indeed the mural of a young person with many interpretations. I love it when I see sidewalk art!

That is a cute find Iris. I get weird looks sometimes while taking photos but who cares, they don't know me, lol.
I was sad to see a "letter" my 6 year old great-nephew in America wrote about Putin being a bad man and hurting Ukraine. Even tiny kids are aware of this war and the hurt it causes.
Thanks for contributing to Monday Murals Iris.

Sometimes our interpretations are sad but true. They are a reflection of our world view and right now it is very sad.

This kid is so talented and perceptive. I wonder how old the kid is.

That is a sweet scene drawn by a perceptive kid. You were good to stop and take the pic to show it to us.

David, sadly you are right - the rich Russians are not much affected, it gets the small ones. Russians and Ukrainian people...

____

Nancy, yes small, yet mighty those people are. How sad.
Henry and family says thank you!

_____

CJ, you describe it much nicer :-)

____

Christine, hope you enjoyed the song :-)

____

magiceye, yes, kids ain´t dumb!

____

Jeanie, you sure are right - sadly we had rain and snow and it´s long gone...

____

Sami, yes, I don´t care, either! I´m old, I have a cam, so what?
Talked to my Ukrainian teamleader today, oh, so many bad things he told me (again).
I had to ask back if he is serious and sadly he was.

____

Bill, yes. Sad how kids grow up these days ... weeks. Way too near and real.

____

gigi, good question, no idea! Sadly...

____

RedPat, yes, I am glad I went back and captured it - so nice you all like it!

Charming. I love giving children art supplies and seeing what they do and how joyfully they do it.

It's lovely that you took those pictures and that you care about children -- our future. And yes so many of them in this world are going through a very hard time. A beautiful post words and pictures. Also, I have taken pictures of children's sidewalk art (in Oregon, where I walk on concrete paths often). I think of the difference (in English anyway) between the words Child-like and childish. Childlike means pure of heart and open to learning and new things. (At least that is my definition and that is how I want to live). Childish is behaving like a naughty kid on a bad day -- not a nice look for adults. Thanks for a great post -- keep on caring!!!

Yes, that counts as a mural.
