Back To The Time Warp

Back to March this year when Grace and P took  us to this wonderful Mid-Century Cafe and Collectables... all the way to Yokine.
Very fitting cause a) I LOVE the 70´s and  b) that town is how Ingo uses to explain how to pronounce his name!
Wiki: "The name Yokine was derived from a Nyungar language word meaning "dingo" (which early settlers referred to as the "native dog")."
Most try his name starting like  mine in English... nope. Like dingo without the "d".

They kinda look a bit sad, don´t you think?

If I lived there I´d go there once a month for a snack to enjoy all this!

I have mostly wonderful memories of the 70´s ...

I was diaper-free from age 1 1/2 cause... I was put on a potty when they thought it was time - same with you?

Potty was orange.

Well, this is a reference to a half-cousin who´s wife always calls me "dear Iris".... Maybe I send her this pic? 🤣

To the 70´s and clever friends who found that café for me!!!

Henry's 🦁  alter Perth-ego, the Black Swan 🐣:

I LOVE that color - what´s your fav?

I remember pictures of gold, orange, and lime/avocado green appliances from the 70s. I am not a fan of those colors, but I know you love those bright bold colors. This was the perfect place for you. And that amazing black swan!!!!

Yes, when it warms up... I have 70´s summer-clothes :-)
The swan is but from the internet, this time I saw none for real, reckon they hid in the shadow...

You were such a cute little girl Iris. Those photos are both sweet. And those kitchen pieces are definitely from the 70's. It's fun to see them, but I don't think I need to go back down that road again-grin. Have a super rest of your day. hugs-Erika

Erika, thank you :-)
Aw, well, just this week was an episode of Castle with a man who lost his lover in the 70´s to murder and lived in the 70´s still - fun episode! hugs to today, wouldn´t want to miss blogging!

All of those 70s pieces look so familiar, Iris. There were some good times back then.

I think I like most of the bright colors...but orange for breakfast set might have been hard to live with. Living through the 70s I definitely had avocado colored stove and fridge, several times!

Christine,I´m happy to share!

Bertiebo... a loong time ago!

Barbara, our bathroom had that green!

Our kitchen was part orange (the counter) and the appliances were that avocado green. Those colours were very popular, why I'll never know. :)

Yay, I pronounced Ingo correctly, after all. I was potty trained at 18 months.

Bill, that combo sounds strange! Ingo´s parent´s kitchen was orange-white and my parent´s bathroom had that green -but mix that in one room???? Oh, my! ;-)

gigi, thumbs up on the name! So we were "free" of diapers at the same age...
Look at kids today...

The 70s were very colourful when it came to home decorating and kitchenware. I'll have to look up some old photos and see if I can find my orange chairs and curtains in them.
I don't recall my own potty training but remember I started my kids when summer began when they were around two or almost two and by the time autumn came they were using the toilet.

Oh, I love all this stuff! How cool this place must be. And you know, as a seller of vintage and retro this is rightbup my alley!

River, if you find... share??? I´d like to see how it was in Australia!
I only saw a scene in the Northern Territory museum at the Tracy-section,but that was certainly a Christmas-set and it looked more like the 50´s...
I remember potty training. I was sent to my Grandma´s Sister, a nun. She was strict and the bathroom smelled... I even remember the red kiddy-suitcase I took.
If an "accident" happened, she beat me. No fun. I called her "Aunt Lina"...
