So. We cannot go to Hermans for a burger, not to Burgerista, not to....
Oh, Corinna, you.
Then there was an ad for burgers on delivery and I thought, yeah, like ordering a steak, but Ingo went for it.
And YIKES!!!
Awful. "Cheap"!
I had to make up for that, right?
Come Spring/summer we´ll make our own, from scratch!!!
And SPRING came!!! For Valentine´s, too! In -17C!!! MINUS!!! That´s frickin´ cold! (-27,2222F to be very exact) - brrrr.
My very first Valentine´s card! As you maybe know since I lost my job I hate to open the mailbox and Ingo does that for me (stupid, I know, me, not him).
But I got cuuuute, nice, happy mail for Valentine´s (if a tad late, hello, mailman!)
Such a beautiful stamp, too!
And, ohhh, I can picture where the letter was written. 🥰
That lake, awww...
Thank you, Kathy, you made my day!
Funny side-note... date is 2-5-2021.
Hmmm.
I´d assume that´s the second of May 🤣
A time-warp!!!!
It arrived on Monday, February 15th, which I´d write 15/02/2021.
Aren´t we all kinda weird a bit?
To be fair: Ingo once brought a heart-shaped pizza for Valentine´s once.
And sparkling-wine-glasses with hearts.
And he came with sparkling wine this time, too! 🥂
To join Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday" ...
Fun, but I didn´t buy it.
This?
Nooo. Stayed at the store, also.
Me?
My cheap mixer does the juice-job!
And I just certainly learned about the babies at Elizabeth´s, I always wondered about this one I found in my parent´s house... In the attic, too, this tiny thing!!!
Journal...
The wings... "That one without dreams is the one without wings" - Muhammad Ali.
The frog? We don´t eat frogs! Are we French (KIDDING!!!)
But... what did we do?
Soljanka!!!!!
We tasted and "tasted" and "tasted" so much before - we were actually full, came supper-time LOL!
And... T, btw, "my T"... our boss invited us to go to Magdeburg, former GDR.
"My T" did not join - he grew up there.
Next Monday I told him: "GUESS!!!! We had Soljanka!!!! Ever heard of that?! Soooo yummy!!!"
"Oh, don´t you say 🤣"
Yah, me. Telling an "Ossi" about Soljanka...
"We had bananas! But I didn´t want to queue up for one".
I could tell stories, having had three T´s as teamleaders from "over there".
Germany is still divided, will take a while to be really united.
A good Soljanka might do the job!
Too much to choose from...

Cute little baby doll. I like the cookie mugs and the sugar-skull artwork on those cans. I had a sugar skull calendar all last year.
Crazy I found this tiny doll in all the stuff up there, huh?! She´s right here... a true 70´s girl.
Guess Meg would love her?
Oh. Skull-calendar - you´d love our bedroom ;-)
Fun to learn we´re not alone!
Your hamburger on paper is better than the one in real life! I absolutely don't like burgers! That vegan version is better!
I just saw a baby like this on Erika's blog. She baked a cake with a baby inside ... There are so many habits in this world ... right?!
The the cookie mugs are so fun!
All that food made me hungry! Thanks! LOL
Ich hab dich liiiieb mein 🐘

Yes, those babies pop up now everywhere, I had no idea what it´s about!
Yahhh... that burger was awful. LOL. We payed money for that!!! I once had a beet-root-burger. Sadly was as awful.
I LOVE Sesame Street! And Cookie Monster, but not sweets, so....
Sorry. But you need to eat, just don´t choose such a burger (know you won´t!).
Ich hab dich liiiieb mein 🦋!!!
xoxo
Even a good burger might fail to arrive in good shape when it's delivered. All of lockdown, we have not had a commercial burger (and very few home made, none in the cold months). Spring will come and with it (maybe) burgers.

Good morning, I was so glad that your slow mail arrived pretty close to Valentine's day.
I agree I loved your journal page over your real hamburger-always fun to try out something new though. I wonder if that little doll was included in food box of some sort. here I think they still sell cracker jacks and it always included a small toy of some sort.
we are super cold here too and it keeps getting colder each day this morning early it is negative 9 degrees f once its light I can see if the ice has now enclosed our dock and boat or not.
I loved the cookie monster mugs and those mardi gras cans are cool
stay warm hugs Kathy
The last burger I had was takeout, but from a proper restaurant. Back around the new year.
No greater pleasure than real mail in your letterbox. No bills of course. I love that little doll!
I can't believe I've never seen those babies before, what a cute one you found, don't they melt when you cook with them?
I'm not a lover of burgers either, hate all that ketchup and pickle, homemade with fried onions is not bad!
Happy T Day
Jan x
...I haven't had a good burger in over a year!
Lovely artwork and photos. Great Day of the Dead skulls. The burger looks delicious.
Gosh that was a big burger Iris, I can see why it put you off! How exciting and lovely to get a Valentine's Day card delivered by the post, doesn't happen often these days 💙💜
Fun post Iris. You are really cold too. Seems lots of us are right now. Although today not too bad but just enough so we are having freezing rain and ice. Ugh. I am with you about the burger. The picture looks much better than what came in the box. And I can relate to foggy glasses too. And now I am discovering I've had the worst chapped lips this winter more than once. Either the cold or the mask. Not quite sure. Have a super T day. Hugs-Erika
Fun photos, great mail, delicious food! We're in the deep freeze, too. My glasses actually ICED OVER while I was shoveling snow! Stay cozy!
I'm looking forward to lunches out, but am doing the best I can at home for now. There's just nothing like being served at a favorite or new-to-me restaurant :) Your soup, though, that looks delicious.
We're having record-breaking cold here and snow we're not used to getting. It's fun for me since we've kept power and don't have to get out.
Happy T Tuesday!
Its Always The Little Things That Make The Difference
Big Hugs
Oh what a beautiful and fun post dearest Iris! To start it off with a Bacon Cheeseburger is simply the best way! I love Bacon Cheeseburger and I'll never forget how I chose that as my Dinner on my overnight stay in Amsterdam! Okay I hope nobody judges me because I am on a Diet HAHA It was 15 euros for a meal with fries and orange juice, very expensive compared to the same Burger King meal here which is just half the price but I tell you dearest Iris, After a looong bus ride from Paris and a day of circling around the city, that simple cheeseburger tasted GOLDEN! hahahaha Love your cooking, would love to taste that someday!!!

The hamburger really looks gross. But it was worth a try. Your acrylics page is clever and funny.
The Valentine's card from Kathy was very sweet and thoughtful. I got one too and was delighted.
I love the Cookie Monster mugs! You're really rockin' that journal - so many cute drawings.
The first year I sold Avon here in Mexico, I didn't speak enough Spanish or know the customs very well. So guess who won the baby in the cake!
The Soljanka looks delicious. I looked up recipes. Yum indeed!
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
How sweet of Kathy to send you snail mail. Wonderful indeed. And that hamburger looks disgusting, especially because I hate ketchup. I hope it was better than it looked, but from the sound of it, it was not.
Loved the drinks you shared. LOVED the baby. It was awesome. Always LOVE your calendar pages. Thanks for sharing your burger, drinks, shopping, and calendar with us for T this Tuesday, dear.
I haven't had a burger in a very long time. We just has some vegan kind and I really enjoyed it.
That kissing baby is adorable. I have never seen one that small.
Yeah, that burger doesn't look that appetizing. What a disappointment to order out and not enjoy it. I am ready to eat in an actual restaurant.
What a fun surprise in your mail box. I LOVE checking the mail. I just give the bills to hubby while I look at the fun stuff.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
I agree that burger looks disgusting. Now you know...
Now that you are cooking, you can say: I can do better than that!
What a cute little kissing baby!
A lovely Valentine's card from the USA. That was really nice of Kathy. I see you didn't know the Americans write the date the wrong way round. lol
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Such a wonderful post! Loving the thought of the burger and I was sorry to hear that it awful. Your valentine's card is gorgeous, very spring-like and the postage stamp and envelope with the stickers are beautiful too 😁. The little baby is super cute and those cans are gorgeous. I smiled at the cookie monster mug, the elephant on your journal pages and the green frog too 🐸. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
Now I want to see your bedroom :)
I had a burger last night, home made and home cooked, but no bun, I had it on a plate with a pasta salad.
Mae, yes, it was... and I wasn´t even hungry.
Time will come!
____
Kathy, yes, such a very cute and nice surprise, I thank you!
The doll I have no idea, must be from the 70´s!
Maccas alaways has toys in the kid´s menu here.
Here it warms up, so ... warm hugs from here to your beautiful lake... and you, of course :-)
____
William, lucky you, this "restaurant" likely will fail!
____
Bertiebo, bills and other ugly stuff from the job agency, for example...
____
Jan, I didn´t cook it, oh, by golly, I think the ones they cook with are different ones, this is from the 70´s and I have no idea where from.
Yes, homemade with salad for example, that´s a burger I´d prefer!
_____
Tom, I can honestly say: Me, neither, LOL!
____
Anne, sadly the burger really was crap. But now I wishh I´d bought the drink!
____
Grace, I want Grill´d!!!! Yes, it sure was a wonderful surprise - nearly as poor Marty, oh, come on, we have to laugh about that, right? 💙💜
____
Erika, it warmed up here, yay! But the lips, uh, yes, me, also. Every winter. Hugs, and to better times!
____
Jeanie, THAT never happened to me/my glasses, how AWFUL!!!! Hope you´re all cozy and wrapped up by now, brrr!
____
Divers and Sundry, yupp, that was a dumb idea with the burger! The soup was ... to die for!
Weird weather, luckily warming up!
____
Padre, yes :-) Cheers!
____
Dearest Stevenson, LOL, you would not want to start off with that burger, it was really plain horrible and I wasn´t even hungry.
No one judjes! You have to have fun and a good meal once in a while, what else are you living for? And if pricey, pffff, once in a while that´s OK! And especially after a long journey!.
Soljanka is on the list for you! :-)
____
Eileen, worth, hmmm, no? LOL!!!
Yes, some snail mail is wonderful!
Thank you, I hope to get better with that journal, still not happy with it! Tipps are welcome!
I never heard of that baby before, huh, now I know why I found it!
Yep, go for the Soljanka, if you like I send you "our" recipe. hugs!
____
Elizabeth, yes, I was sooo happy about the mail! And yes, disgusting is some word for that Hamburger,, it was plain awful.
Thank you for hosting this dear friend!
_____
Bill, I once had a beet-root burger. Hm. Was not that good, so to say ;-)
____
Kate, amazing I found the baby, right? Between all the trash in the attic!
Yes, a real restaurant, a steak maybe.
I hate the mail, glad Hubby does it all, but your way is clever, too, LOL.
____
Lisca, yes, now I do know, LOL. And yes, I can do better!
Well, it´s weird with the dates, isn´t it?! But I sure was so happy about the mail!
Hugs from here!
____
Jo, you made me laugh! I kinda just knew it´s a bad idea with that burger and I hated being right! But the snail mail sure made up for that! More Elephants on Thursday, hugs!
____
River, OK, post to come.
Hmmm, with salad sounds great. But I need a charcoal grill and that´s... under a pile of snow! But soon!!!
OMG! that is a huge burger. I can't imagine getting a burger delivered. I would think it would be cold? I love your art journal. You are doing so well with that. Those skull cans are amazing. I love them. Have a great day today.
No thank you to the burger...we only eat pork and apple burgers and make them up ourselves...sorry yours wren a disappointment! I love those mugs although I bet that Cookie monster one is difficult to clean! How lovely that Valentines surprise was! Loving the journal - so colourful! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
