Spotted this on my way to ESE yesterday. Oh. Want.
Well, in summer, winter is back, in Hamburg even a lot of snow!
My ESE-admin brought two monitors + gear to my ESE-teamleader´s car and off we took to pick up my Alstom-teamleader.
My life is a crazy one.
When we arrived it took him forever to come down and he looked so, so tired.
He was tired because he just came home at 02:00 am that morning.
Home from Kiev.
He is Ukrainian and went with a transporter to bring goods that are so badly needed to his former home.
And what he had to tell. Glad I sat in the back and he could not see my face.
The bridge to Kiev, bombed, he had to take a much longer route, stayed in a bunker, saw children dying in there, the bombings, all night long.
Back he drove a couple of days later with refugees on board.
Told us the Ukrainian people do have money, just there is nothing to buy.
You have to be careful, people from other countries try to sneak into Germany pretending they are Ukrainians.
He has German organizations helping him in many a way, some I cannot tell openly even.
That is help for real. He plans more trips, of course.
Can this darn war end, this darn Put#n just drop you-know-what?
Back home I put all the gear on my white "work-table".
Bummer. One cable OK, the other ... not so much. Mailed ESE-Admin and went back on foot. 3.5 km one-way again, needed 34 minutes, phew, reached him in time, back with the correct cable.
Then. Uh-oh. Both monitors take the laptop.
Who cares?
I have an THE Ingo!
Now I have not two, but THREE monitors.
And later I´ll buy another cable so I can have the ESE-laptop on right there, too, to keep track of my working-hours.
Makes kinda four, eh?
And work / private PC are separated, too.
Looks impressive, huh?
To me at least.
Pic taken from the swing, Emil would be too near.
This is what my T wanted to give me at VW already - the third monitor was there but the VW-PC could not handle 3 monitors.
Can´t wait to send a pic to T - he will smile big! 😁
Pressure is rising immensly, though, I tell you.
The Alstom-team was super-nice, all with the casual "du".
The instructions came in French, ahhhhhh. OK, found out my French is still fit enough... for the basics! (Alstom is French-based).
One of them even worked for (not at) VW, just like me, when we enrolled "level5"!
Did I mention my life is kinda crazy?
And no, this is no April´s fool joke.

Your workspace looks very neat, very tidy, but all those monitors mean busy, busy, busy. This makes me proud of you. I know I couldn't handle it.
It immediately seems even worse when you hear it from someone you know and who has been there
I don't know if I can manage and concentrate with 3 monitors. You are doing a great job. It is sad and terrible report on what is happening in Ukraine.
River, so far I´m sitting and waiting for instructions, for crying out loud! And I don´t wanna be the nagging type... Said, I´m here, need input, now I can but wait.

Bertiebo, yes, also the look on his face said a lot.

Nancy, once you are used to it, it´s fine. I work with two monitors since 2001 :-)
Yes, I was not shocked, but it was still terrible to hear.
...the Ukraine situation is so sad. Iris, you need to hold on to your INgo, what a smiley guy.
Tom, yes to both :-)
What a courageous man. I'm sure his stories are heartbreaking though. It is great that he can go and do that. And your look so official now with all those monitors. How is the job going? hugs-Erika
Yes, we need people like that.
As teamleader, though. I didn´t have work all day! Just read about their company. Impressive, but boring with hours ticking by! Hugs back
Your worktable sure looks impressive!
Sad about Ukrainians.
Wow. We all wonder what can do and so we do what we can from afar -- donate, buy things from Etsy sellers, as Carola suggested. But to actually have the courage and be able to go into Ukraine with supplies and return with refugees... that is really something. I'm sure the stories he can tell only begin to touch the horror.
I love your monitor set-up. It looks like you have plenty of room -- and an Ingo! All systems go!
Wow! I'm impressed with your work space! You'll stay busy, I can tell!
Jeanie, yes, and he really went into Kiev...
Oh, I do hope for go! Today was just reading about trains as I got nothing project-related...
Well, Ingo says I get paid for that. Hm... still not satisfying!

Divers and Sundry, I hope for Monday to really start!
Very cool workspace. Like I've said before, Ingo is a keeper.
It's good to know that you have the ingonomics guide by your side. :)
CJ, he is :-)
____
Bill, ingonomics :-) I´ll keep that word, thank you
Bless that guys heart for helping. It is horrible. Yes, your work space is impressive. I would love 3 monitors. LOL Have a good day, Iris.
That's dangerous to go in and out of Ukraine. He is a hero.
Nicole, yes, I hope every little bit helps. Sadly the Russians stole huge masses of food and medication away.
Yes, three monitors is cool!

gigi, yes, well he has family there...
That is a brave man. The world is better for having people like him.
I would be lost with all that technology that you have.
RedPat, yes, he does good.
Aw, you get used pretty quick to the comfort of three monitors :-)
WOW, what a brave man. I am so impressed with him and his stories he must have shared with you two.
You have a very impressive work space. I am not sure I could handle four monitors, but I know I could handle two for sure. Bless INGO!!!
Yes, he braves up. In more than one way and he made so many contacts who are willing to help.
So sad this is needed, yet impressive to see people standing up and DOING like that.
Oh, I wish I had work to do, today: nothing - big hopes for Monday!
Yes, and to Ingo this is even fun! I had doing configuration and stuff!
Your workplace looks like my son's! He works from home, in a monitoring job, and has screens and computers all over the place - and noise from alarms as well. I'm glad he works in a room I seldom need to enter :)
Very brave.
It's okay to say it. Putin should drop dead.
Slava Ukraini
What A Smile And Dig That Work Space
Cheers
Margaret, oh, alarms?! I got a high quality keyboard so silent Ingo hears when I´m at my private PC ;-)
___
William, yes, he should do that in his luxury-bunker!!!!
____
R´s Rue, yes, to the brave.
____
Padre, yes to both, cheers!
