Yes, I join Elle with witches today.
This is a bitter story. As you can guess a true one.
I´ve had enough of flat sharing, my job was safe, I moved into my very first (one-room only) apartment. The middle apartment on an arbor.
First door.
A black-silver-haired old, miserable, lonely woman.
Door always open, the smell from her apartment, ewwww...
Third day she stopped me and asked if I can run errands for her. I felt sorry and despite it was a longer list, I did (after 8 work hours and 1 1/2 hours of driving).
Her thank you: fish-fingers with mashed potatoes - YUM! NICE!
But. When I saw the kitchen... I had to lie. Said thank you, but I cannot have fish.
We traveled Australia, we lived in "dirt", but this was old, greasy, stinking dirt.
She got mad at me and haunted me and everyone who visited me ever since.
I really had to call the housekeeper, who just said, "oh, no, not again!".
She had a visitor but once. Her Son. Who brought her to a caring home.
We had many an "adventure" with her and can you believe it.
I still felt a bit sorry for her despite all the trouble.
Witches can be mean, but some just grow mean due to loneliness.
I hope for fun witches for your Halloween!

I also join Nicole and Annie here. Boo and smile!

Remember: Your apartment with not even enough space for a bed and I come to visit weekends. Packed with my old sailor bag (A huge blanket for two persons) came in.There was the last barrier, the Fury. Thanks to the housekeeper that we could install a "spy-shield"
Yes, bad memories of that place - and fun ones with my Bro who made her jump. I had a few days off "haunting"...
Boy, she really... sad...
What a beautiful and incredible witch. LOVE this drawing. It's perfect for Elle's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.
Quite a Witch drawing.
The poor woman. It has to be so hard to get really old. I see my mom and my Mother-in-law like that and it is so sad. Your drawings is great too. I like how you did her in white on black paper. Perfect! Yesterday you also asked if I could take some Trick or Treat photos. I would love to BUT, my house is isolated so I never get any that come to my door. Sorry. The only ones I ever got were my daughter's friends when she was a kid. Have a great end of the work week Iris. hugs-Erika
What a great drawing today Iris, love the white pencil (?) on black paper. I agree about the loneliness and maybe that's how all witches start off and gradually get worse due to lack of friends. Have a great weekend! Thanks for joining me for the October theme at Art Journal Journey this month Elle/Empire of the Cat xx
Elizabeth, thank you :-)

Elle, yes, it was but a white pencil - I kinda fail with other media!
To never being that lonely and bitter! xx
oh no, doesn't sound nice, gotta feel sorry for her in a way, maybe people get so use to their surroundings that they think it's normal.
Well, dunno, she was like really mean .... and mentally sick.
This white on black technique is very interesting and it certainly lends itself well to Halloween!
