Hello Computer - Will AI Take Care Of Us?

I got another complaint from a bloggy-friend - comment was gone the moment she hit "publish".

Happens all the time, so I always click - automatically by now -  STRG + A (mark all), STRG C (copy all).
If failed I can always try again - after hitting F5 for update and it´s still not there - use STRG + V for inserting again.
Repeat, if blogger still has the hiccups.

Now ... this is from  Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home - see how they thought it will work in 1986:

Well, some of you might have had an Alexa - she is gone , who ever knew?

My private PC is what Scotty might´ve found in 2022 (well, he, or rather his ashes, went into space for real in 2005):

Yes, I said Scotty, not James Doohan. I think it was his fav role.

I admit, I´m also a bit of a Trekkie.

Oh. Will we get dumber with technology getting smarter?
I am afraid so.

My job for now is something a computer cannot do (yet) - and us humans at times neither.

What will the future bring?

Will we, at very old age - if we make that -, be taken care of by robots?
Will they talk to us? Will they show "emotions" and have more time than the real people have today?

What do they have per patient/person, seven minutes?
And most are from Poland, cheap, speak no German... it is so sad.

Will AI be an improvement? The Simpson´s had this subject several times already (baby-AI-seals making people in a retirement home dance along and being happy, remembering their golden times etc).

Do you have any ideas?

Henry 🦁

"Didn´t you want to show the lights from InnoTrans?!"
Yes, Henry, this has to wait.
The computer holds the data for sure. One of the external drives will work!

We are absolutely getting dumber I agree, we don't know how to do anything now, either because technology is doing it for us, or because people in third world countries are making everything for us so we have no practical skills left. Beam me up Scotty! The engines canna take it any more Captain! (also a Trekkie)Elle/EOTC xx

Yes, I had a paper map and got around - I don´t dare to anymore without a navi!

Keyboard. How quaint.

I think we are definitely getting dumber -- and lazier. Honestly, if you have to tell Alexa to turn on the radio or ask the time instead of checking yourself, what good does that do?

...I'm not this technologically advanced.

Tom, we will survive!

I agree with Jeanie. People sure are lazy, dumb and inpatient these days.

I see you have Blue Bloods showing on one screen. I finished that series two nights ago and have plenty of other things to watch but can't decide. I want more Blue Bloods!

I agree we are getting dumber now that computers do so much for us, there are children who have never held a book, students who can't do library research because everything is found on Google, and so very many who can't do math because they were raised with calculators. I feel sorry for the children born several generations from now who may spend their entire lives just sitting and pushing buttons.

Bill, yes...sad, huh...

River, I am still not done with Blue Bloods!! And this 100% was German and on TV... Let´s do binge-watching? ;-)

Yes. I so agree. Glad we are old!!!
I feel dumb at times, though, cause I have a hard time with "the new stuff"!

Now if someone would invent a Star Trek replicator that made dinner for you whatever you wanted, I would be on board with that! "Computer make me spag bol for dinner" and it instantly appears on the table :)
