Lost On The Market?

Finally we made it to the market again last Saturday.
And Ingo really also got a pumpkin:

 And super-tomatoes:

 I got:

 But the star was this:

Blanch the leaves, get rid of the massive white stems.
 Then this:

...salt, pepper etc.
Water an old bread roll and...

Mix into the meat with an egg. Then...

Start with the inner leaves, end with the hearty, dark ones:

Next:

Use lots of caraway (we talk cabbage, right? Also, it´s yummy!)

Then...

ENJOY!!!
Most add potatoes, but we were happy with this!

We were not lost on the market, but back in the day...
Let me try to go for something positive, OK?

I hope this counts as "lost", too...

Bertiebo, I´m sad they are all eaten up!

Love to see all the fresh vegetables and fruits in the market. Now, I usually buy these from the mini markets (shops) in my area, no need to go to the market unless I want something which I can't get from the shops. Parking is a problem if I go to the market.

We can walk on foot to the market, but in the shops you get normal veggies, fruit, too.
It´s also the nice atmosphere and occasionally chat that makes it so attractive.

When I was little Ma used to take us shopping at a market like that in Boston called Haymarket.

That is a great looking Farmer's Market. Glad you were able to go. I really like the way you make the stuffed cabbage. Looks so good. Have a great day.

Your lost is a good kind of lost. Nice drawing Iris. And yum to stuffed cabbage. I wish my hubby would eat stuffed cabbage, peppers, grape leaves, whatever. The only thing stuffed he'd eat is a stuffed turkey. Oh well. Hope your day is going well. It's your kind of day here, dark and wet. hugs-Erika

Erika, I cook for but myself often when Ingo does not like it. Either all week (gah!), or freeze it.

William, time for it then now! It´s the perfect weather.

Amy, I sadly don´t like pumpkin - at least not Ingo´s recipes....

Spare Parts and Pics, I hope you found something yummy! :-)

Christine, it was super-yummy, and thank you, I wanted something positive :-)

I haven't eaten cabbage rolls since mum left us. I have eaten cabbage of course and minced meat made into patties and fried, I add different ingredients, not onions, we call them burgers, some people call them rissoles, I just call it dinner.

Roll it baby, roll it!!! Love that! The cabbage looks SO fresh and yummy, so glad you got out to the market. I love markets, the fresh produce always makes me happy. ☺ I love your "lost" memories! ♥♥

I made my last visit to our up-north farm market last weekend. I'll miss it. I still need to get pumpkins, though!

Well, Iris, those jumping pieces of eels may have kept you out of the kitchen for a long time, but you can certainly cook now! I love your "lost" drawings. Have a good week!
