As you can guess I join Elle with mythical beast.
I was maybe six and had the coolest bed ever, a fire-truck! I slept up high.
My Dad checked if I was asleep - I was - and grabbed my left leg with an "arrrrrr"!
Funny.
Not.
I still remember this dream today I had for nights after about a croc grabbing me.
Today... I have a croc in a white wardrobe I will show you soon (once drawn, not today...).
And one in a shirt with a baby (hi from IKEA).
I also had half a croc-burger in Darwin, Northern Australia.
Awful. A bit fishy and... no. You can also put a shoe inside (Ingo had the other half).
In Kakadu NP we saw a croc for real, I think it was a freshie, still scary...
Wiki: "The freshwater crocodile (Crocodylus johnstoni), also known as the Australian freshwater crocodile, Johnstone's crocodile or the freshie, is a species of crocodile endemic to the northern regions of Australia. Unlike their much larger Australian relative, the saltwater crocodile, freshwater crocodiles are not known as man-eaters, although they bite in self defence, and brief, nonfatal attacks have occurred, apparently the result of mistaken identity. "
Henry 🦁
Lion-Dads sometimes are better than human ones...
And - I thought - ... thinking, huh... you can activate subtitles (as I often unwillingly get!) in my post on Ukraine, River mentioned there are none, so I added a bit.
Sad addendum. River reminded me of the huge Saltie we both saw in Perth Zoo. Neither of us remembered his name, so I looked it up. His name was Simmo and he passed 2018. RIP, Simmo, see here...

...not my friend.
Love the drawing. When I was 5 I was convinced a crocodile lived under my bed. I would leap from the door to the bed so I wouldn't have to walk by the bed because the croc was waiting underneath. When I landed on the bed, the bed would move with my momentum and slam into the wall with a great crash. My dad would yell, What the hell are you doing? Go to bed! I was trying. 🎃
Tom, mine neither! It sure was a saltie!

CJ, that is awful!!!
Oh, my!!!
Fathers can be... well, you know what I mean.
We should´ve had Henry...
You are a very talented drawer. I have seen alligators in Florida but never crocs. Gigi hawaii
Thank you. Oh, there is yet another category!
Dreams are weird. I had a dream a few years back that my dog turned into an alligator. Lucky we don't have them or crocodiles here.
That sounds weird - and scary!!!
I not a fan either. They are listed on my never want to see list along with snakes.
Oh I like this latest crocodile, but it wouldn't be fun to be grabbed by one, even if it was just your dad pretending. It does make a wonderful story for Elle's challenge. And nice drawing too. Thanks for joining us at AJJ. And hope you've had a happy Monday. hugs-Erika
I have only ever seen crocodiles on TV or at the zoo. And at the big Aquarium in Perth. That big one out by a boat marina which I can't remember the name of.
Bill, I had both already - a huge saltie (behind glass in Perth zoo) and a real, hurt, half-dead snake I had to jump over...

Erika, thank you, it´s fun to join you. I know it´s actually about tales, but despite I love watching them on Sundays my brain cannot produce them. All that comes out are true stories, I am sadly not creative...

River, yes, the huge saltie in Perth Zoo!
He is impressive. When we were there he didn´t move at all. Just a blink kof the eye from time to time (sloooow).
OH - bad news! I coudn´t rfemember his name, either and googled. He was called Simmo and passed 2018, see here
I can never see a crocodile without thinking of my favorite "Peter Pan." I love it!
I like your drawing.
All the best Jan
Cool crocodile Iris. And a cool bed you had, quite jealous lol. I also had crocodile before, like fishy chicken, ugh. Those big crocs are scary beasties though. Reminds me of the Crocodile Hunter. Thanks for joining me for the October theme at Art Journal Journey this month Elle/Empire of the Cat xx
