I Missed It

Let´s go back to Perth for some signs, huh, some good, some very sad...
This is a good one.

These...

 You get directions....

This is in the very heart of the city...

It was so sad.
It is not just Braunschweig, Seesen (my hometown I visited last Friday and my Brother showed me around, so many stores closed down for good, I nearly cried).
Even famous Perth´s London Court... so many empty places...

But there are some that will always be there...

7 ELEVEN to me has some... village-y style. I like that!

And this...

I am "sad" I had Ingo with me, or.... rather the other way round, Ingo had me with him.
On my own I´d popped in!!!

Next time I´ll go!!!!
Ingo is always on the run, even on holidays.
And also... he is limited in what he can eat without ending up in hospital. And it sure is not funny to watch me enjoy new food he cannot have.
Next time....

This is for Tom´s Signs 2.

Henry's 🦁  alter Perth-ego, the Black Swan 🐣:

It´s a shame how so many stores had to close down, all the people without jobs.
Darn COVID turned us all into online-shopping-monsters. Though I try to buy local whenever I can.

Let´s hope toastface grillah makes it till we are back... Oh, my, I get all hungry 😉
Just put up a folder "perth2026" and put in the link to them in my to-do-list - just look at their menu!

I will NEVER be an online shopper. If I can't feel it, touch it, inspect it, I don't want it. Too bad so many shps went under due to Covid. LOVE the black swan, though.

Yes, I like to have in my hands what I wanna purchase. But it´s a pity. So many stores are dark here now.

My name is Erika. said...

We have places like that here. I'm guessing a lot of it was the internet and buying online, but I am sure some of it might be left over COVID effects. Or something I don't even know about. Sad, yes. Hope you're having a lovely day. hugs-Erika

Erika, I have no real clue, either.
I only know of my Brother that people go to him, get their eyes tested and then buy online...
Off to the balcony now! :-)

It is the same here with many stores closed. I have never bought anything on-line. I want to feel what I am buying. And I hate waiting around for deliveries.

Sad to see businesses closing down. Recession on the horizon!

magiceye, dark times ahead... but as mostly always "we" will find a way, somehow....

Sad about closed stores

Same thing in Hawaii, too. But, new stores and restaurants keep popping up, so all is not lost.

Thanks for sharing these snapshots of Perth. I look forward to seeing what’s new and holding on to the places that continue to shine.

I just posted a new blog post, please read: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/07/how-to-style-cowboy-hat-denim-on-denim-fashion-tips.html

Lots of businesses have gone down and closed in the last few years. Very sad.

Iris Flavia said...

Christine, yes, all the people without jobs...

____

gigi, that is good news and hope!

___

Melody Jacob, yes, we need to look to the bright side of life...

Bill, I hope we find new shops soon.

It is like that here too, Iris. Big malls are closing down or are like ghost towns. Many small towns that are not along interstate routes are dying, with empty storefronts lining the streets. Some, however, are making a comeback as people rediscover the pleasure of small shops and restaurants in downtown areas.

Loved the second part of your comment, this gives some hope!

Taostface Grillah sounds great! I hope you get to try it.

So mnay places here are closed too and covid can't be blamed for all of them. Sometimes it is just the high cost of running the store, electricity here is the highest in the world I've been told, and also the cost of renting the store when the owners keep raising the rent and if there are not enough customers they can't make enough money to pay the rent and so it goes.

That IS sad. And yes, Covid has changed the way many of us shop. It's very sad to see shops close, especially the smaller, more interesting ones.
