Such a nice sight these days, found this yesterday on my "workout" to the bakery, YAY, something is actually open!!!
Not so here...
Well, here...
This is for Tom´s signs 2.
Henry ๐ฆ.. not really a snow-lover!
BUT! People are so friendly these days, it´s wonderful.
There is so much snow, people shovel only as much as they have to, so there is but a small passage.
There was an elderly lady trying to fight her way through, so I stepped to the side into the pile.
She gave me a smile and said "Thank you!".
And yes, I could see the smile, the mask was down. Corinna dies likely instantly in these cold temps outside anyways.
Then I saw this and stopped for a quick pic:
Another woman behind me had to stop, too, had a look and we had a nice chat on this (my Dad once made a "proper" igloo for us).
The woman in the bakery actually had a day off, but her colleague could not reach Braunschweig due to the snow, so she had to step in.
And certainly she was bored to the brim as there were no customers.
I was only there cause Ingo had Monday off, so I got his bread Tuesday.
We, too, had a nice chat.
Not sweet, and really but a snack! Where do you find that in the days of "XXL" and "All you can eat"? At our bakery!
Later a woman made way for me, grinned and said, "wee, that´s really exercise today!".
See, all friendly people!
And really. You can walk yourself warm in -12C! It´s like walking up a hill in that snow, I easily kicked burning 3000 calories, I tell ya (well, my Polar fitness-thingy told me)!
Hope people keep this wonderful attitude!

One month, two weeks... Yeah!
Yipeee!
You're counting the days, lol.
I'm glad people are being friendlier in these tough times, I hope they carry on this way.
Yes, crazy, is it. Both ๐
...WOW! Iris, the snow sure has piled up. For the most part things are open here, many probably shouldn't be. Take care and stay safe.
Hope the friendliness of the people continues...
That sure is a huge smowpile!
Great post.
That is a good deal of snow. Like what we get.
Tom, yes, most is closed. But the ways you can go are so narrow... eeek, distance?! Near to no way...
____
magiceye, yes, maybe people learn friendliness from theses criseses...

Jim, thank you.

William, feel free to get it, I don´t really want it ;-)
All that snow Wow!
Brrr.
You DO have a lot of snow. So glad people are friendly -- it makes it easier!
OMG! That is a LOT of snow dear big sis!!! I would so love to see and play in that someday! Though it will be very unlikely because snow has been evading me so much even if I tried to follow it a lot of times in China and in Europe! Though praying that the time will come that I'll be on the middle of a winter wonderland! Sending you hugs dearest Iris!!!
That is a lot of snow. I am glad you get out to fresh air, even if it is frozen air. LOL Nice to have the bakery open. I am so impressed with your 3,000 calories a day. Girl you go with it.
We made igloos too when we lived in Alaska. Have a great day.
Extremes seem to bring out the best in people Iris ๐ I thought it was hot weather that Covid doesn't like. I would really love to see snow again, maybe this year if all goes well ๐
What lovely friendly people. Long may it continue (the friendliness that is, not the snow!) :))
I find that so many people talk to me if I am out shoveling - it makes us all open up to each other.
Jeanie, it is nearly even fun!
_____
Dearest Stevenson, I´d love to make Snow Angels with you!
No kidding, I was tempted to throw myself in and wrap arms and legs for that!
Your day will come, I´m sure!
____
Nicole, you lived in Alaska, too?! Huhh, brrr. 3000 plus, please ;-)
OK, not today, but at least 2000 plus! Thank you, hope it was great day for you, also!
____
Grace, you´ll come over for a visit for Christmas? That would be... oh, wait. Snow really only comes now... But yes, peeps get so nice (most...!)
____
Margaret, YES!!!! It´s so easy to be nice and friendly, helpful, right.
You do have snow. It looks like it is at my house. I'm ready for it to melt. Maybe you are too.
So much snow! my mum would never talk about Germany but my dad would tell of the frozen river and how the kids would skate to school. I'm glad I don't live there though, I couldn't handle that much cold.
Erika, I´m soooo ready - though. As I don´t have to drive it has it´s nice sides.

River, yes, people ski in the city!! You can walk yourself warm, it is true.
I wonder how long the person sat in their igloo for? Must've been very cold.
