Perth-diary: We bought some avocados. At the fresh food people. They were ready to eat, try this in Germany! There you get them green and stone-hard. You have to store them in a warm place and eventually forget about them ´til they´re more than ripe and you have to throw them away. Oh. And they are expensive, too.

Here in Australia you have an overabundance of ripe avocados to choose from. They are yummy and come great with a lemon.
I made a note in my paper-diary that Deanne thought my name is chosen according to the flower, Iris. She thought it was funny that my father in fact chose the name due to the eye - he was, amongst other professions, an optometrist (he was also a goldsmith, watch-maker and hearing aid acoustician).

Well. We calm down a little, have done most of the parts that were on my list. We start relaxing a bit. Which is good. I haven´t expected summer turning in that fast and that hot! Though we´ve been to Australia before, it was never in real summer...
