Can You Hear Me?

(pics all from MY camera)
So I went to the ear specialist to get my ear(s) tested. The blast trauma never went away and I often have light tinnitus there on top and was told a hearing aid might help.
Also I´m afraid that if I find a job I might end up in a cube farm, what if I can´t cope with that ear...

Boy. They opened at  2pm. Maybe you wanna make a cuppa first, it´s but 3 C, so I planned and was there 02:04.
A woman was already in. Not even that old but DUMB! Again and again and again she asked  for the prices of the hearing aids, that she had to pay partially for her glasses, that she wants to try them out only when her sewing class starts again, that is on Mondays but due to Corinna closed, if he knows when they open that up again (HOW???? How is HE supposed to know?!) etc, etc.

The test is 15 minutes, I waited nearly 45 minutes. And was done in under 15 minutes myself.

Interesting thing was: You don´t get headphones and a beeper, no, you get the real stuff!
And certainly.

The assistant wanted to place the tube in my ear. And had to get... the kids-tube out. BOY.
But really interesting. After the test he put both on. Quite a difference indeed and you don´t feel them even, not inside the ear and they are very, very lightweight, too!

Left ear is quite OK, right one, well... For private still good enough, though.

Strange, was: My Dad had the testroom in a noise protection booth, not so here. Try to concentrate on a beep when you hear people talk outside.

I was nearly home when I saw ... red jacket on bike: W, cheering at me, shouting, "Hi! Your Hubby is home! :-)"

At home the news on TV: Guess, yes. Trump. I am sick and tired, why is it so important for Germans to follow this Tdumpb stuff?!

He´s in so much  "pain" he doesn´t even mind the icky pigeon on his head!

What do you say? Can you speak a little louder? 🤣
Oh gosh, how I miss my clients ... they were also a few "sour plums" in between, but in general were happy that the hearing aid is doing well!
I never worked with the kids, I thought that was too hard ... I couldn't work with the sick children! I'm a wimp!
Is Henry on vacation ?! Can he travel to Florence? LOL
I wish you a nice weekend, 🐘!!!
Ich hab dich liiiieb !!!! xoxo

I am glad the hearing aids will help you. my husband has severe tinitus since he was a teenager. damaged ear drums and the hearing aids make things worse. He is slowly losing more and more hearing, but if he loses all hearing perhaps the very loud noise will be gone he has not had silence in over 60 years
I love Henry today Happy Saturday

I am so hoping they can budget the wax from my ear so I don't need to go through more stuff. Eventually Imay need to get one of those, too. You don't realize how much you could miss till you are missing it. I have bad tinnitus. I've had it for decades. It's so annoying. Once I asked Rick if he could hear noises in my head. He couldn't.

I think there is such a stignma with hearing aids. My MIL needs one badly, she can't hear a thing, and boy has that made her old. But she will spent thousands on her teeth to so they keep her looking younger, but what good is it if you can't hear? Too bad about the lady at the shop. And I get your point about Trump on the news. I think that is all he really wants, is to be in the media. Thank goodness he is almost gone. Hope you're having a super weekend.

I haven't had an ear test in years. I do remember those booths with headphones and listening for the sounds/beeps. Sounds like it is a new and improved test.

We still use the booth and beeper tests here. My brother has hearing aids, the tiny ones that fit inside the ears and can't be seen. I also have tinnitus, have had it for decades and have learned to listen "through" it, so I don't notice it unless it gets loud or sometimes the ears will start ringing and that is annoying but rarely happens. I notice it is worse with particular medications like aspirin and antihistamines.

I've had several hearing tests and they were all in a booth. Each time it has showed both ears have no cilia in a very specific range. Even though I wore ear plugs, factory work was devastating to my ears, I've also had severe tinnitus for years. It's worse when I think about it. Henry looks sad today.

William, great we have these, huh.

____

Kathy, I don´t need them yet. Oh, boy, 60 years with severe, that is awful! I just have a "swooosh". And mostly can ignore it, too. All the best to your Hubby, have a nice Sunday!

____

Jeanie, best wishes. Oh. I never knew so many people have tinnitus!
So annoying. But mostly I can belnd it out, luckily!

____

Erika, really? Hearing aids here are pretty normal, just like glasses. Oh, bad she spends so much money on teeth and then WHAT?
Yes, hope that ornage baby is history soon! To a great Sunday :-)

____

Tom, I still get lift-ads cause I ONCE googled for my Mum. She left us 2011...

____

Bill, I guess so - if the room was sound-proof, haha...

____

River, ohh! These in-ears are very expensive over here. Crazy how many people have tinnitus, really, I never knew! I "hear" through it, too, mostly.

____

Elizabeth, ups, sorry to re-animate that darn tinnitus.. Ingo speaks so loud, maybe also due to his work-place....

I am so glad the hearing aids will help you and glad you were able to get them. You are tired of trump, try living in the US. LOL

An eventful ear test, I see. :) I hope things are better, now.

And about the dumb news -- tell me about it! :-| (I'm sure that's something you don't want to 'hear better.' :D) Have a good week, Iris. :)

I had to have a hearing test about 18 months ago, it was done in a quiet room and I seem to remember a bleeper was part of the test.
Anyway I passed, my hearing at the moment is ok.

All the best Jan
