As told before my Sony died. I have insurance for 5 years for it and will check if I can give it in for repair. The SECOND TIME! Last time they were open, let´s see, Corinna.
Meanwhile ... cheers to amazon!
Please meet a new brand!
A Canon it is now. OK, a cheapy, not even €95! Only 8X optical zoom, the Sony has 20, but how often did I use that anyways?
Black is boring, I know, but the cam even talks to me, LOL.
Turn off flash and it lets you know when targeting something "Flash will not fire".
Why, thank you for reassuring me!
Hmmm, some first snaps:
I played a bit, also:
Oh, come on, for it being very dark in the kitchen and I turned off flash, this ain´t that bad - apart from... can you?!
This was with zoom, and in daylight the cam is OK, don´t you think?
Plus... I´m no pro and for under 100 bucks that´s fine for me.
How I took the pics? Golden, I tell ya:
This one taken with the Canon, of course.
Henry π¦...?
Toys, toys, toys!
Off to the market soon. And to the grocery and trying to get "professional" masks - mandatory from Monday on, what nonensense, our Henry-masks (bought in a store, too!) are as good - Ingo tried to buy some certainly anyway, but ... the shelves were empty.
And a sign: One per person / each family member only.
That´s a way to make money, huh (and how do they want to control that?).
And one more thing, I nearly fell off my chair laughing in wonder!
I never knew, Elizabeth, modern freezers don´t need defrosting anymore! I want a new one, this one is maybe 20+ years old (we got it from the pre-owners, and, my, time runs, we moved in here 2011!!!)... π₯Άπ

I have a little Sony Cyber-shot the same size as your new Canon, but only 5x zoom. My big Canon has 30x zoom. My fist digital camera was a Canon, with 4x zoom and I loved the Macro feature on that. I still have it, I still have all my cameras and they all work, but mostly now I take the big canon with me.
So canon seems to be good! I had all kinds of brands and since I use a cam daily, have it with me always they die after a while. As in a couple of years, of course, I´m no monster!
Hmm, seems I made a good choice this time - and will try better no-flash-pics in the kitchen tonight (Ingo is still asleep, happy dude, that).
Those are familiar cameras for me and the black one I still have but I don't use it anymore. There is something on lens and I can't get it away. I always recieve a big blurry dot I see on the picture. Now I have a red Canon ixus 185 and I like it very much. Also nice selfies but I found the squirrel again the most beautiful.
Selfies? That´s my Hubby π€£ I don´t look that manly...
Yes, Peanut is the cutest! And Canon seems to be a good brand!
Cool camera.
Let´s see whilst trying.
My past two cameras have been Canons and I really have loved both of them. My current one is starting to get funky in the zoom -- but I have dropped it so many times on cement I think that's been a problem -- but it still works. I'll be ordering a new one when Covid has calmed down and I can get out or travel more and will probably get another Canon. I hope you enjoy -- I like what you shared!
Looking forward to some great pics with your new toy!
...I have a small black Sony like yours. I wish that they made it in a bright color so I could find it.
Jeanie! LOL, you dropped it on concrete? Uh. Well, we can go out and about even in hard lockdown, so I need a cam every day.
Hope you can do soon, too!

Tom, yes, I had red, once, too, and pink. Black is soooo boring and hideous...
Green I had also.
Hello,
Congrats on your new Canon! Your photos look great. Cute squirrel and nice photos of your hubby! Take care, enjoy your weekend!

Padre, I will... shoot... often! Cheers :-)
Defrosting? You do need an upgrade! :-)
Can't wait to see your pics with the new toy. I see that you got Ingo to smile for you. Nice evening to you!
Jeff, it´s the freezer, not the fridge...?

Bill, I´ll do my best, horror on the way!
I have a Canon PowerShot, but it is not as good as my old Sony, which was much sharper.
Nice you have a new camera. I have the same one for art stuff and two very expensive cameras for other things. Have fun with it.
I have had my little Sony (a different model to yours) for over ten years now - and taken over 30,000 photos with it!! (I delete a lot). Now I mostly use the camera on my phone and it seems to work okay for what I want these days.
Have fun with your new toy :)
Love the new camera. Amazon is great, isn't it? And I had to laugh at the comment you mentioned about frost free freezers. I remember defrosting. It isn't fun!
I've always had good luck with Amazon.
Coffee is on and stay safe
As long as you are happy with your new ca,era and it does what you need it to do, it doesn't matter what the cost is. I have a fabulous Nikon that makes me incredibly happy. I love it because it uses rechargeable AA batteries, not the slim battery that yours contains. I know because I had a slim Nikon like yours and the battery had to be recharged and if you wanted a spare, you had to buy one that cost almost the same as a new camera.
Sorry I had to let the cat out of the bag that freezers are now auto defrost. Enjoy your new camera and I hope you get a new fridge/freezer soon.
I have a Canon Ixus. They are good little cameras, I have mine in my bag all the time too.
Different masks now! I hope they help, very sad what is going on all over Europe.
My Mom lost a friend to Covid this week, and the sister of that friend also died the same day with Covid, they were both in Nursing homes.
My sister's father in law died last Sunday from bacterial pneumonia that he got in hospital after he was hospitalized due to a fall and was discharged 2 days later. When he went home he gave it to his wife, both were quite sick a few days later, both went to hospital, he died 2 or 3 days later and now the wife caught Covid in hospital! She's 88, they doubt she will make it.
