C'est Bon, C'est Bon...

In my childhood  in summer I was sent to an Aunt always.

Ellerhoop, I guess it was at first years and the cellar was flooded often.

Uncle Sigi always brought these chewing-gum-balls and I never found out from where.
With the biggest smile he said he works in a chewing-gum-factory and these were for free.

Kinda guessed even back then he lied, but who cares???
(I was maybe 4 or 5)

He also got this cheese and us kids got the package to make little boats to float in the flooded cellar (we had rain boots).

So. When Ingo came home with this brand... FLASH-BACK to all this!
Certainly Uncle/Aunt are long gone. Cousin (sorry to say this) too... dumb that I want to meet her.

It was good, it was good.

Addendum... the ad is "C´est bon, c´est bon, Géramont, Géramont ..."

Sometimes I also have a flashback ... just like when I read the word gumballs! I saw the youngest son when he was little, with the gumballs in his hand ... he loved this gum so much that he had it under his pillow too!
Yesterday King Winter paid a short visit ... today the rain wipes away all that snow! Its 2 degrees outside and tomorrow will be 6 degrees!
Have a nice Sunday my 🐘

good memories. one of my Grandpas always gave us kids a hersheys chocolate bar with almonds-the full size ones. of course Mom would confiscate them so we wouldn't eat the whole bar. I always think of that when I see those bars now Happy Sunday

I remember getting HUGE gumballs when I was a child. You sucked on the coating for what seemed like hours before getting to the gum. Great memories, indeed.

Gumballs bring back a memory for me too. I had a friend who took a gumball machine home from someplace and had it in his bedroom. It was strange to see, a penny for a gumball just like in a store. :)

I had a miniature gumball machine when my kids were small, we used one cent coins for it and after the mini gumballs were gone I filled it with M&Ms. When the coin caddy was full I would open it and share the coins amongst the kids again.
I remember a movie once where a waterpipe burst and flooded the cellar and the kids went downstairs and swam in it until the plumber arrived.

Never had a gumball machine. know a fabric store that kept a gumball full of buttons and should put quarter in it and see what I get.
When I was kid I would go spend about week every summer with my Aunt and Uncle diary.
Coffee is on and stay safe

I seem to have never picked up the gum habit.

I remember having chewing gum balls here in NZ when I was growing up too but they may have been under a different name.

Fun memories and your Uncle sounds like the kind every kid deserves to have. I’d like to try that cheese !
