Some signs from last year....
Here I sometimes joined colleagues for lunch, when I still had a job...:
Hmmm ... lasagna (OK, now I can do that myself, but... the jobs that are gone?!).
To give you a laugh:
Near to heart attack.
Yesterday I came into the living room the very moment the neighbor from 4th floor across the yard threw out his Christmas tree.
I saw the poor thing flying down all the way.
It is a big one. My cam focused on the wildflowers that maybe will bloom again on our balcony.
Clever thing, that.

The shops are closed here too ... until January 19 ... we hope! I think the small boutiques will disappear completely! Such a pity! I'll really miss some!

Yes. Though I seldom buy anything anymore it is so sad. They even want to limit how far we may go. But Ingo certainly is allowed to drive to work.

It's sad to see small businesses closing.
What!! Throw a tree from the 4th floor!! Can they not bring it down the stairs or lift?

Also... it was an "amazing" sight! I had my computer glasses on, too. But the tree was so big, I saw what it was. Poor fella... kaBOOOM!

Astonishingly it fell so silent I didn´t hear it.
In July we had those optimistic signs too, welcome back. As of November everything is CLOSED. I, too, wonder how many will ever open again. There were so many long established bars and restaurants that have closed permanently.
I agree, how many jobs lost?
Things are closed here, too. And I hope they stay that way till they kick this pandemic to the curb, though I doubt it. But I do wonder how many will be able to survive.
...Iris you have some signs of hard times. Some businesses will not survive and some are thriving. Take care my friend so that you are among the survivors!
What a sad way for the tree to end up. Falling down from the window. But kind of funny too. Living rural people just stuff their out the backdoor and either throw them in the woods or take them to the recycle center to be chipped into pieces. It's fascinating how things which are the same aren't the same depending on your circumstances. Happy mid-week!

It´s gone now, reckon for recycling, too. It looked fresh and good still, why throw it out?!
My family always kept ours till it was brown and loosing needles.
Interesting signs but so sad that the establishments are closed.
Life has been hard for retailers. I hope there are some restaurants that survive so we can go out after vaccinations. Fine collection of signs.
It's a great post for Tom's signs, BUT not a great post for the economy. It's the same here in the states, too. Except the places are closed due to the virus and not due to a lock down. So very sad.
Staying in so much, I’m sure I will be shocked when I try to go to many places that have closed forever. I think our whole restaurant system has problems, but this was no way to fix them!

Glad no one was walking by when the tree flew down to the ground. Stores that only opened a little while ago are now closed once again. :(

Sad to see businesses closing rendering so many umemployed. Fortunately here they are opening with strict covid protocol to be followed.
Now that that the vaccines will be here hope for some improvement.
He threw the tree from the fourth floor?? I hope he checked first in case anyone was walking down there. This waste of trees is the main reason I have a plastic tree. No need to buy a new one every year and then don't have to throw it away after Christmas.

It's a shame that some shops have closed forever.
Yes, here in the UK, we too have another lockdown and the shops (except for the essential ones) are closed. I fear some of them will not re-open.
