Snow In January????

So. We had snow. For one day. In January!!!! Usually it is February the darn White comes down!

Anyhows. Nice (as I don´t have to drive, just walked to the market And yes. Since Ingo gets up around 04:00 am on weekdays I let him sleep in on Saturdays and walk to the market by myself).

Turn the sound on to hear the crunch 😁

Nice also: On Tuesday the phone rang and on my "K?" - I am that old I am trained to answer with my surname... and end with a question mark - ...

I heard two kids, my Nieces, in fact, singing  - in English!!! - also the Wee one - "Happy Birthday" to me!

Cuuute. So sweet. They pronounced my name in German, though, was a tad weird.
Why not start a new year in life a tad weird, eh? A mix-up.
(I actually hate that! Decide on ONE language! "Kaffee to go" makes me sick!)

In case you wonder.
In German my name is pronounced like "ear-is". In French more like "ear-iiiis". So it was a "mess up" singing English and using that "ear", LOL. But their giggling made up for that. Bro then chewed my ear... haha, see a pattern?!...  he chewed my ear off again.

That poor man sits at home in lockdown with two girls, the younger one louder than Ingo!

Loud, btw, turn on the sound, if you like, I´m on the way to the market, still, near the park (too dangerous these days to take that route, sadly, you get robbed, likely):

This is on the way to the White Horse SC:

I screamed I want breasts there, post to come, LOL.

Hmmm, I once had a white Seat Leon TDI as substitute when a lady crashed my parked poor Polo, this one, The Leon,  was a "bomb", too cool, I visited my Bro just for the fun of driving back then!

Still before the "I-want-breast-incident"... getting light, day is coming!

On the way home. With breasts.

And at home I could see, uh-oh....

He found nothing in front of the door... Hups, the raven fell on it´s side (or Peanut was angry again).

Peanut wasn´t pleased!

See the neighbour´s rose in the background, with a blob of snow on it´s head?
Henry 🦁... He is no snow-lion!

He stomps like an...

They look forward to SPRING!!!!
Pic taken at KIK before lockdown, KIK, as all other non-foods is closed now.

At some places you can order via phone/internet and get your stuff behind a plastic-wall later, these years sure will leave a mark in our minds....
And certainly my cam had to die RIGHT NOW! Hope to get my new one today, give this one for repair (maybe) and meanwhile have Ingo´s.

In case you wonder, my HUAWEI is OLD and SLOW. I actually only have it to use WhatsApp with my T or Bro and MIL, not for taking pics.

How nice to be woken with Happy Birthday being sung to you. I think it's good the kids are bi-lingual.

Nonono, Happy Birthday is maybe all they know!

Big Niece learns English at school, Bro is terrified already, LOL...
School-English is terrible - I was very, VERY lucky my English teacher in High School was from Great Britain and fun (not only regular school books but "Surprising stories" and Rock Music). German English teachers are horrible, just take care you have the grammar correct. No fun at all. Niece hates English for a reason hence.

Yesterday snowed there? OK!
This is the gift you got from Mother Nature for your birthday! Right?
Is nice to ride in the snow, when the roads are ice-free!
Oh baby ... the flower pots with Hathi 🐘 and Henry 🦁 are GORGEOUS!
I melt when I look at Hathi! 🐘
I want a Hathi flower pot too! LOL
Ich hab dich liiiieb mein Hathi!!!

No, the snow was on Saturday, today we have 11C!!! Crazy!
Yes, the flower pots, I had to think of you for sure πŸ˜‚
Well, sorry, KIK is really closed. It´s so weird to go to the Shopping Center, only pharmacy, dm and REWE are open - and the tobacco shop!!!! "Essential". Not.
Ich hab dich liiiieb mein πŸ¦‹ xoxo

Hello,

It is nice to hear the Happy Birthday song, I hope you had a good day. Your snowy images are pretty, the light at night has a beautiful glow. I do not love the winter weather and I am looking forward to spring. Pretty photos. Take care, have a happy day!

Iris Flavia said...

Oh, my!!!! Yes, it was very windy this morning here, too! As long as it´s not dangerous I love it! Glad you didn´t take off, my πŸ¦‹✈ xoxo

Eileen, sorry, blogger just has another crazy day...
I hate winter and it was early morning, you know, the early bird and the poor worm ;-)

Oh, all that crunchy snow makes me feel nostalgic! It rarely snows here and when it does, it's usually in other parts of the country. It goes away quickly.

What a nice birthday phone call!

BTW, moose meat isn't bitter. I actually liked it, but that may have been because it was something of a relief compared to the other Eskimo food we used to have with our Inupiaq friends. I'll be posting about that in future, but for now I'll just say that moose stew is better than seal oil!

Iris Flavia said...

Oh, Shari, seal oil, ewww!!!! Looking forward to that post and make sure I had something to eat before that, LOL!

...for us this has been a year of little snow. Enjoy yours.

Luckily all gone, 11C!

We seem to have less snow this year than usual. I don't expect to stay so lucky. It looks good when it's new, then becomes very grey and stays around. A small amount is a nuisance. When it's deep it's really a mess to go anywhere. I guess we don't have anywhere to go this year anyway.

So nice to have the nieces sing you Happy birthday :)
I like to see snow pictures, but don't enjoy the cold weather at all, much prefer the hot weather.
The bird prints and the squirrel prints on the snow are cute and those flower pots are really sweet :)

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, I´d prefer your weather, too! :-)
Yes, Nieces were cute as the (angry) prints!

So funny about the pronunciation of your name while singing the birthday song in English. You have such a fun family.

Ohhh snow. I lived in snow country most of my adult life. I am done with it. No more for me. LOL Be careful in the snow and ice.

Your snow photos are lovely. I like snow much more when it is in someone else's area! We don't have very much snow here. I shoveled a bit yesterday but it was an easy push. I like it only when it comes down and is fresh and clean and then it just becomes a problem! Rick, on the other hand, loves it and will head out to cross country ski whenever he can.

Happy Birthday, my friend. How fun to hear your little ones sing to you!

Jeff the Chef said...

Happy Birthday! I love all those snowy pictures.

RedPat said...

The snow does look pretty! And you don't need to shovel it so that is good!

The crunching sound made me think of horses. We had some horses walk by a few months ago and it sounded just like your video. I like your snowy pictures, very pretty and it's great I don't have to deal with it. :)

Padre, the snow lasted one day - 11C already and it´s but 06 am! Cheers to that

____

gigi, fun is the correct word!

____

Nicole, luckyily wsarm again over here!

____

Jeanie, it really was just that bit and long gone, also. Skiing, oh, loooong ago! Thank you, yes, Nieces are cute.

_____

Jeff, thank you.

____

RedPat, luckily not enough to shovel.

_____

Oh, Bill, wonderful! Ella calls me elephant and you give me the horse, LOL - and "best": the neighbours above really DO stomp! Not me....

____

Amy, it´s Ingo´s choice! But I did, too, it´s better - no traffic and you have the whole day. You work full-time, yet it feels like half-time cause you´re home early.

____

Margaret, yes, some cutie pies! 11C now, snow is gone! xx

____

Dora, I haven´t been on my bike since years. I prefer to walk and take tons of pics!
